  1. Wonder if he'll rock up to SJP with Norwich on the 1st December.
  2. Whoever the new manager wants, imo. Still would love Kamara, Max Aarons, another striker to compete with Wilson and another winger. Would be chuffed to bits with 2 of those 4 in January.
  3. Just the one report based on not much has said Conte might not be interested, I'll wait until a more reputable sources backs this up before taking it as gospel.
  4. Been able to cobble the money together for the price of my old seat. Fuck knows when STs go on sale again but at least I know I can afford it now. Buzzing for Chelsea, first game since Rafa's last home game.
  5. Fully agreed, just when they interview human rights activists, like what are we meant to say? When they write these articles like above, which is actually dreadfully written, do we just nod along or something? Dunno whether I'm frustrated at it or just fewmin that its getting dropped on the shoulders of football fans who tend to not have a clue about this sort of stuff.
  6. What do they want us to say or do about it? Why do radio shows, newspapers and interviews who have Newcastle fans on to talk about the takeover, football and last 14 years get met with human rights activists? What on earth can we say to said activists? Can we make them go 'oh, aye you're right, Staveley in'? I've seen more stuff about Saudi Arabian geopolitics and human rights in the last 3 days online than I've seen in the last 3 years from our own government who actually deals with them, nevermind these out-of-nowhere white collar experts on MENA conflicts and politics.
  7. That article just says he's one of the options. Got a contract until 2025 and he's made a great start there after 2 years.
  8. Lightyears ahead of Bruce, good option. Can't help but feel underwhelmed though. Beggars can't be choosers I suppose.
  9. I don't know enough about the Glazer takeover of Manchester United or FC United of Manchester to really comment, but I'm assuming that FC United was formed because of how they acquired Manchester United (I believe they borrowed against Man Utd's assets as opposed to using their own money) and how they were going to run the club rather than moral ambiguity about the Glazers and their money in question or condemnation from white collar journalists and fans of other clubs.
  10. The atmosphere would improve even more even if just Bruce was gone and it was Jones in the dugout. But I really don't see a point to giving this same shit setup one more game, a winnable game against a naff Tottenham at that. Give the new guy as much time as possible with the players.
  11. Be a handy signing. Kamara and a striker in January would be brilliant.
  12. I mean in regards to us and these owners. Being implored to walk away from or limit support for your club you've supported for years because of who owns it by people from outside the region or fanbase.
  13. There's those out there who are of the idea that Newcastle fans should walk away from the club given these owners, which to me is mental. Just things I've seen online, sample size may well be small but just what I've seen.
  14. Fairs. FWIW I disagree with Saudi flag waving, having ?? on social media profiles, dressing up as sheikhs, it makes us look like we're championing a torrid regime. I'm unbelievably happy that Ashley has finally gone, and I'm happy that we're well and truly in the money, in spite of knowing where its coming from. But Newcastle United is my club, always has been and always will be no matter who the owners are, and they can't take that away from me. People need to educate themselves and who these people owning the club now are, but I generally resent the idea of having to justify why I support the club I always have done.
  15. That people are having to feel the need to justify why they're supporting the football club they always have done is bizarre to me. State money is part of football now and football now in the 21st century is fucked.

    Joe Willock

Good for him, love the lad. Hopefully the sky is the limit for him under a new manager.
  17. Clubs are always going to be worse off, it's all relative. We've said we've had a shit 14 years then you just get "YEAH BUT BOLTON AND BURY". What, so we can't complain? The house allusion I made, you can't want to improve your house because there's homeless people about? Piss off man.
  18. "You can't be grateful that you've finally improved your house after struggling to get the money together to improve it, there's homeless people on the streets."
  19. I think True Geordie nailed it: football is fucked. Its been fucked for years, we've benefitted from it being fucked for a change. States shouldn't own clubs, but a precedent was set in 2008. You can be aware what these owners are, whilst still enjoying going to watch the club you always have done for years and not feel guilty or made to feel guilty by fans of other clubs who magically care about the human rights record of Saudi Arabia and wider MENA, Miguel Delaney or Kaveh Sovhekol.
  20. As someone with who is quite left wing politically, I really should care about being de facto owned by Saudi Arabia; how they treat women, LGBTQs, what they're doing in Yemen, et cetera. But, rightly or wrongly, I don't. Part of me is like, why is it down to Newcastle United supporters to be up in arms about the record in a country which prior to this takeover next to no football fan probably paid any attention to. All of a sudden, because they now own us and if looks from the outside in like a PSG, Man City type takeover, everyone is an expert on MBS, the war in Yemen, et cetera. Fuck off. Man City fans probably got this and probably still do. Why should a lad from Burnage be questioned by some writer from a pay wall newspaper for supporting the club he always has done? Same for us. That's the mentality I'm taking. I should care, I don't. I've wanted just some sort of change at the top for years and didn't care what that was. We've got it, and I'm happy.
  21. Whoever was offering Yorkie this ticket I'll shamelessly take it.
  22. Ronaldo is almost a confirmed rapist. Man Utd fans hate it being brought up, which gives all the more reason to mention it. Cunts. Bissouma could well be a sex offender. 6 clubs tried to ruin football mere months ago, got a slap on the wrist. Yet Newcastle United getting new owners renders an emergency meeting of all clubs possible? Hahahahahahahaha
