Isn't that banner a reference to "Nil Stasis Nisi Optimum", their club motto on their crest?

He did a shit job and was deservedly sacked. Should never have been appointed in the first place.

Kane to score, Son 0.5 assists, Spurs to win. 15/2.

Clark was our best defender in the Championship. Under Benitez he rarely let us down, popped up with a goal every now and then in the last few seasons. Still needs to be moved on, shouldn't be anywhere near the PL now. Isaac Hayden I'd wish nowt but the best, always grafted and fully gets the club, but again he's probably not cut out for where the club wants to go. Almirón has been mismanaged by Bruce and showed great promise under Benitez. But if we're not going to play him as a 10 he shouldn't play at all so probably it's time he moved on. Lewis I've always had faith would come good, but if Howe doesn't think he's good enough that's good enough for me. Gayle played a pivotal role in getting us back up, looked oft toothless without him. Not cut out for the PL and is over 30. Others I'm not overly arsed about. That list should be longer tbh.

Can't help but get quasi Everton vibes from signing Rashford. Kind of signing they make, once hyped out of form player at a big 6 club.

Last game with a full crowd in pre COVID, 2 years ago today. Remember that weekend vividly, last normal weekend until last summer.

Anyone that held up a piece of paper with the Helios logo on got a bag with £100. Wish I did it, am fucking skint.

It's some card game he's invented.

He's a CL level quality player. Some of the passes he picked out v Brentford and in the cameos in the home games were evidence of that. He'll start in the upcoming away games. Suppose he'll never live down when he came back inside in the box in stoppage time yesterday to some. He did that at Lyon a few times, even though its heart in the mouth stuff he'll have been the calmest bloke in the stadium.

Aye but you also said this.

Arsenal wearing red shorts for no reason.

Would take a point. They've only lost 1 home game this season in all competitions. But a part of me thinks we can go there and get 3 points though given them losing 4-0 at Villa. They're quite unpredictable. Huge boost if Salisu is out. Can see Bruno and ASM starting.

Great win. Old chestnut of not playing well but getting 3 points. Brighton are a decent side, well coached, look after the ball well but have no real cutting edge. Don't remember too many clear cut chances of theirs. 28 points with 12 games to play. Probably just need another 7.

CBA to share the tweets but remember those lads wearing those Joelinton Hawaiian shirts at West Ham? Well Steve Wraith decided to auction off a ASM one but passed the shirt off as his idea. One of the lads called him out on it, now Wraith's little cult have all piled in and got his Twitter account suspended. Cannot wait for that bald Tory wanker to be put out to pasture.

I'm really confident of a win here, and it terrifies me.

Aye, hated that quote. Been thinking about this ownership overall last few days tbh with the whole Ukraine and Abramovich stuff. I resent the amount of deflecting or defence rushing that some of our fanbase do. It proves sportswashing, but I don't actually think it's done with malicious intent tbh. This sounds daft but I'll elaborate; I think our supporters have hated the Ashley years and perspective for over a decade now so much that they'll defend whatever the alternative was because Ashley was out. The celebrations outside SJP to me were because Ashley was out despite a minute amount holding the Saudi flag and wearing tea towels on their heads rather than celebrating being state owned by Saudi. It's like some kind of bizarre quasi fear has gripped some of our fans that Ashley could return or an Ashley lite could come along due to the spotlights on issues in KSA may render a tiny possibility that they could be forced out, especially given the absolute joke that the takeover process was. I've just accepted it tbh, and move on. I utterly reject the notion that supporters should walk away from their club because of their owners, it's absolute virtue signalling nonsense put forward by people who will likely never have owners remotely similar in their clubs. But when someone says 'Jesus, MBS did this' or 'bloody hell, X happens in Saudi' I'd rather shoulders are shrugged and people just go 'yeah' rather than being like wHaT aBoUt UbEr AnD tWiTtEr YoU hYpOcRiTe or go on defences like it.

Regarding the Southgate patter, I think I've mentioned before that he's one of those whose more or less a perfect fit for his current job. Managers just fit certain clubs or jobs, Southgate and England, Klopp and Liverpool, Allegri and Juventus, et cetera. I think atm, Howe is seeming the perfect fit for us right now; his philosophy, work ethic, the way he speaks about the club and fans and seems a man of integrity. Southgate I feel wouldn't work back in club management, the England lads seem to really like him and in 2 tournaments under him we've reach the semi final and a final which is lightyears from Hodgson, Capello and all of his predecessors back to SBR.
