  1. Joelinton and Shelvey depending on Willock's fitness.
  2. I'd much rather we look abroad for a striker than get Calvert-Lewin tbh. Nunez is my dream choice though he'll probably have better offers.
  3. Wolves (h) D Leicester (h) D Palace (h) W Norwich (a) W Liverpool (h) L Man City (a) L Arsenal (h) D Burnley (a) W We're more than capable of those results. Was tempted to put a win against Leicester as we're due a home win against the bastards, but anyway that'd put us on 43 points. At SJP we're a different side and we'll even give Liverpool a run for their money imo.
  4. For me though this is why I'm excited for next season assuming we stay up. CBA to find my post but I said a few weeks ago that this is cause to be looking forward to the summer and next season; no disrespect meant to Bournemouth or Burnley but we're the biggest club he's managed so far in his career and he's never had this kind of money to work with before. Sunday aside, he's done quite well tactically against the bigger sides and we've not reaped as much rewards from those games as we should've done which suggests to me he's up to it for the bigger games against the better teams and managers; when he we have better players on the park we'll be a proper test for any side. It's a great challenge for him as a manager and it'll be a great ride for us as fans. It's all about the recruitment and getting 2-3 transformational signings that move us up a level each season. With Bellamy and Robert, SBR moved us from being a side who finished 11th two seasons running to being a top 4 side. The signings of Allison and Van Dijk changed Liverpool from being a side battling it out for the top 4 to being neck and neck with Man City. Team building and those 1 or 2 signings each year will determine how we move forward as I have no qualms about Howe tactically (Sunday aside obviously but given the job he's done so far he's well within his rights to get it wrong every now and then).
  5. Love hearing him talk. Hopefully we can bounce back tomorrow night with 3 points.
  6. Bit of kneejerking going on. We've played 6 of our last 7 matches away from home, three of them sides currently in the top 6 and taken 10 points. Everton defeat was a game we never should've lost and the goal came in the 99th minute. We just need 4 points to guarantee it, I think we'll get 6 from the next 4. At least.
  7. They're fucked I think if they drop yeah. Already in FFP shit, have very few sellable assets and have shit players on big contracts and high wages that no one will want. Then they've got the stadium stuff going on as well. Absolutely knackered if they drop, definitely the worse run club in the league by far.
  8. 2 wins from the next 4 for us will sort us out.
  9. They're such pathetic, pedantic, bitter cunts the ones who are kicking off at Sam Fender. Musician who supports Newcastle does a gig in Newcastle so audience does Newcastle related stuff and they kick off about it. Did Manchester United fans kick off when Oasis played at the GMEX or Maine Road/Etihad because of their outward support of Man City and hatred of Man Utd? Don't think they ever did. The mackems are so sad it's unreal. To them it's Ponteland airport. Sam Fender isn't a Geordie because he's from North Shields. He's playing up to the mags even though he supports NUFC. It's hilarious at this point.
  10. Liverpool's excellence has probably played a part in Diaz taking to the PL like a duck to water, but if players from Portugal are indeed well suited to English football as well, Nunez should be our number 1 summer target.
  11. 28 goals in 26 starts for Nuñez this season. Sign him.
  12. That article about how managing NUFC is 'riding the black and white tiger' because the highs are higher and the lows are lower than any other club in the league is spot on. After the run we've been on no other club's fans would talk as if Howe needed to go because of 3 defeats, one (arguably two) of which was completely undeserved. And the bunch of yer das who hate ASM and scrutinise him to the nth degree but don't say a word about Fraser, Wood et al boil my piss. Talk of being happy to sell him man, fuck me. Fucking hate our fanbase at times.
  13. We've only played ASM up top in the league away against the top sides, remember at Anfield it actually worked okay. Just a case of lumping balls in behind for him to use his pace to run onto. Won't work in home games, especially not against a solid Wolves defence who'll sit deep.
  14. Talk about replacing him ffs. Get to fuck. He deserves and will have the chance the rebuild the club in his image for the next couple years and 1 shit game should not in a million years change that.
  15. Gouffran went from half decent between when he signed and the end of 13-14, to being symbolic of everything dreadful about the club between 2014 and the 2016 relegation to being half decent again in the Championship. Scored that goal as well as the volley at Derby. Also remember his shot that hit the bar at light speed at home to Brighton.
  16. Pretty dreadful home record against these in the league. 2 wins since 1977 and couldn't find a video of the second one. So I've included the League Cup win back in 2016 as well as a great memory from last season.
  17. A PL Monday night home game for the first time since December 2012 v Wigan.
  18. It was his first start since 13 February tbf. His appearances have seen him in and out of the team for 7 games and he's only appeared in 3 of those, so he probably isn't fully up to sharpness and he needs minutes. Also nice to see the NUFC fathas are still against him and have quasi blamed him for yesterday when he contributed far more than any of the other attacking players on the pitch.
  19. Seem quite a few who were there say this but the bold probably underlines how many of those with a high amount of loyalty points who are buying tickets for the point and selling them on. No way a sizeable percentage of those with over 50 points, which is what the game sold out at, is a Stone Island clad coke sniffing pint thrower that you've just described there.
  20. This fixture is a 1-1 merchant and I'd probably take that tbh. Good for us to be back at SJP, should be a good atmosphere, gutted I can't make it. Be at Leicester though. HTL.
  21. Posted in another thread, in the last 5 seasons 35 points would've kept you up. We can get 4 points, minimum arguably, from the next 4 games given how solid we've been at SJP under Howe and given how bad Norwich are. 7 from the next 4 would have us on 38 points which would've kept you up in each of the last 10 seasons.
  22. Offer mutual terminations, loans out, paying a % of their wages and/or cut our losses in getting rid and sell really low. Gayle, Ritchie, Krafth, Almiron, Fernandez, Dummett, Lewis arguably and Hendrick all need to be moved on. I don't see Lascelles or Shelvey being sold this summer so, aye.
