  1. I can see something like the Community Shield being played abroad, like the Italian Super Cup is. Anything more than that and media and fan pressure will push it back imo. (or hope)
  2. On the idea purely, it can fuck off. Newcastle United should play in Newcastle. Manchester City and Manchester United should play in Manchester. Liverpool and Everton likewise, and so on. Overseas pre season tours, fine. But if overseas fans choose an overseas club to follow they should either accept they have to travel overseas to watch them or support their local side. The thing as a whole, it's nothing but pure greed from this rancid, money grubbing, capitalist band of cunts that run modern football at the top now. They can get to fuck more than anyone else in world football.
  3. Him calling the feelings of the fanbase 'a bit noisy' or calling it just 'noise' is fucking insulting iyam.
  4. Serious indictment of what the bloke is; a enthusiasm sapping loser. If he was to take charge of your squad now, Leicester, West Ham or Everton, he'd have them struggling. He is that bad its unbelievable. Speaks volumes that Smith came in (a manager with little pedigree in the game certainly at the time of his appointment) and made you far more fun to watch, think I remember one 5-5 draw , but the enthusiasm from the fans surely had gone up tenfold when lard arse got the bullet. Then he takes you on a run of 10(?) straight wins and gets you up via the play offs. It's unbelievable. If he fucked off after Saturday or whenever we'd be comfortably safe.
  5. I think the most likely scenario in relation to him leaving is him departing by 'mutual consent' where he gets some sort of pay off. Wouldn't be surprised if Ashley refuses though and insists he resigns instead so he doesn't have to pay him, if he does end up walking. ( ) Hope the fans at Wolves keep at him.
  6. Threw a 5er on Sheriff to win on 80 mins.
  7. For one, I haven't been. Not gone since May 2019. I'm seen in a few people's eyes on here stretching back to some last season as someone who still goes, when I'm not. Just want to clear that up. I agree with a lot of what you're saying. I know and understand the bulk of this post. I'm just trying to see it from people who continue to go's POV. And I don't agree with a bit of what's said about them on this board. It gets toxic and quite frankly it's part of the reason why I've attempted not coming on here anymore, which tends to never last for long as I love NUFC and need somewhere to talk/vent about it. Matchgoers tend to be obstinate. People who demand matchgoers to stop are the same tbh. It's an impasse and I don't think it'll ever be resolved whilst the club is still in the PL.
  8. To you it's not, no. TBF the ground has sounded like it's been anti Bruce and pro team for the games this season which is hardly the booing and moaning as seen in seasons gone by when fans have been in. If that's any saving grace. Newcastle United. It still is exactly that to them. This is just another shit period to them as mentioned before, the club didn't want to succeed when we constantly sold our best players under McKeag in the 80s as selling you best players would suggest. It's just another one of those. Fair enough. It is when the club is in the PL. Stuff has been attempted to be organised by United Supporters For Change, Ashley Out, Magpie Group, If Rafa Goes We Go, Toon For Change; why would the Trust be any different? And the fall in attendances wasn't due to an organised boycott, it was few walking away due to anger at Benitez leaving. We saw pretty much the exactly the same attendances in 2019-20 pre-free ticket as we did in 2010-11, regularly over 42,000, which is not enough of a statement as people keep pointing out on here.
  9. The debate about matchgoers goes around in circles tbh but those who go don't see it as you do or others on here do as in: paying for ticket = supporting Ashley or facilitating the ruination of the club. They see it as still NUFC and want to go and support the team on the pitch without seeing much beyond that, despite many knowing about what's happened to the club in the last 14 years. The Ashley era to them will go down to them as another shite period just like 1977-82 was, or like the most of 1984-91 was. Other supporters of other clubs think this way of thinking as bizarre; Grand Old Team thought so at least anyway and others I've personally spoken too don't understand either. Whilst any club in English football is at PL level, a boycott is a pipe dream. Why people on here get so wound up about it I find bizarre tbh, I've already accepted that it just won't happen and that our fanbase as a collective is far too piss weak with getting things organised and literally always has been. Attendances will really fall if the club goes down, just like they did in the late 70s and after going down in '89 pre-Keegan.
  10. He's still a good option. The idea that 'no one good, only Championship plodders' would want it is wrong.
  11. Won Feyenoord's first title in 16(?) years, won a couple cups too iirc. Played good stuff too, but Dutch football is a different animal to the PL. See McClaren, De Boer. But still, I'd take him. And negates the strength of the argument that no one decent would want the job here. Its bollocks imo.
  12. Pardew never managed us v Bournemouth, agree with what you're saying though.
  13. Half of this is true for me personally. I want Howe as I'd look forward to watching the team again, knowing that there's an at least semi competent, likeable guy in the dugout. He'd get more out of us and have us playing nice stuff. But, and this where you and me differ, I want to pretend (sic). I'm sick of hating everything about matches because of that fat, snidey fucking prick in the dugout. I despise that he represents my club, my area and has that crest on his chest when he's interviewed. I just want to enjoy watching my team again, in spite of the larger Ashley picture. You need 3 things to make Newcastle United successful: you need a likeable, intelligent manager in the dugout with a positive footballing philosophy and the ability to communicate that to a squad with talent, excitable flair and a bit of footballing nous. Someone like Howe, or Bruce's predecessor ticks one of those boxes for me and some of the players we have tick the other. Getting shot of Bruce would improve us so much it’s untrue. A takeover would lead to Ashley beiing replaced and a bit of sustained investment will lead to an improvement in the squad, one of those 3 things is inextricably linked to the next. Everything shit about NUFC however all leads back to one person. It’s Ashley who most importantly needs to leave, it’s Ashley who is responsible for years of neglect and it’s Ashley who has driven the club into the ground to meet his own ends. He's the cancer. Ashley out. As soon as fucking possible. But Bruce out in the meantime.
  14. Disagree, we were as much of a mess 2013-16 as we are now, or any of the other Ashley years. Van Bronckhorst wanted it after Benitez left. 'No decent manager would want the job' is bollocks.
  15. The only miniscule hope I have of him leaving, whether that's resigning (fuck no ), by mutual consent so he sort of walks but gets a pay off (probably most likely scenario) or him getting sacked (dunno) is that Ashley has only sacked 3 managers, yet two of them were when the crowd had turned: Allardyce v Liverpool and McClaren v Bournemouth. McClaren should've gone ages before and supporters only fully turned away at Stoke but that's what got him sacked imo, we know now looking back that we got rid too late but after that Bournemouth game we were 1 point from safety with 10 games to play. Hardly adrift in strict terms. Allardyce was sacked in early January but the crowd turned v Liverpool in late November, which was really vitriolic. Obviously Ashley is a different animal now than then, but still.
  16. Howe is cheap, he's out of a job. He didn't go to Celtic due to disagreements over which coaching staff he could bring in. Looking back at the history of past managers when they have replaced someone under Ashley, this was never a sticking point for Pardew, McClaren, Benitez or Bruce. And no, he won't throw millions to anyone, but purely just him replacing Bruce would see us comfortably safe. He doesn't need millions to do that, assuming you're on about the transfer market.

  18. It's blind hope that Bruce gets sacked, I'm guilty of it as much as anyone else. Of course you'd take anyone but Bruce, but those 3 options; Jones - No. He's part of this dogshit set up with Bruce, Clemence, Agnew et al. He's failed at his only managerial stint at a lower level and has to be as guilty as the rest of them when it comes to the shit we serve up. I'm of the opinion that people still think he's the dog's bollocks in some shape or form because it took a chunk of kudos away from Bruce and brought it his away after some good performances at the back end of last season starting with Everton away. I wouldn't be amiss to him and GK coach Simon Smith staying on as coaches should Bruce leave, but he should be nowhere near the managerial role. Giving coaches the gig who have failed as bosses elsewhere never works; Carver and Craig Shakespeare being two examples. Wilder - Meh. He's an upgrade on Bruce and did fantastic with Sheffield Utd in 19/20 but last season I believe they were the worst PL side since either Huddersfield or Derby? That's not a sign that brews confidence. Also, I don't really like him as a bloke tbh. Seems like a PFM who'll live off that one successful season. He's made Brexit loving comments in the past and that doesn't identify as someone who should represent Newcastle United or the city of Newcastle imo. It's a no from me, but is miles ahead of Bruce and better than Jones. Howe - I think its fairly clear that he is my top choice should Bruce get the bullet. I think he'd be a good fit even with Ashley or without him tbh. Took Bournemouth from League One to the Premier League in 3 seasons and kept them there for 5 while playing decent, attacking based football. Has worked with Wilson and Fraser when they had that good partnership and comes across well in interviews. Bournemouth were always going to go down due to the size of that club iyam and injuries also played a huge part in that final season which Howe himself claimed had a huge effect. Think he'd get people at least somewhat liking watching the team again at last, in spite of the Ashley-affected bigger picture.
  19. If Arsenal don't let up this could be 5 or 6. Spurs are embarrassing.
  20. No idea what's happened with Spurs, loads of Pochettino's players that were outstanding a few seasons ago look shadows of themselves. Kane obviously wanted out, a bit like Sanchez at Arsenal before he left in January 2018. Team seems to be carried by Son and Son alone.
  21. Wonder if there's ever been an Arsenal game in the last 6/7 months in which Martin Tyler hasn't referred to Smith-Rowe as the 'Croydon De Bruyne'. Makes shudder with cringe each time.
  22. Expecting a defeat. Hope the away fans keep hammering lard arse in the dugout.
  23. Yet if he was to go we'd be fine. So fucking infuriating man.
  24. Aye, luck is running out. Better performance outside of finishing and finally has seen that going 4 at the back with our players suits them probably well after the horse has bolted. Get him out.
  25. Why didn't he just hit it with his instep, stick it around him? Embarrassingly bad.
