  1. Now that the window has SLAMMED shut, and us ending with 2 incomings in 2 positions we need strengthening, how do you feel about our business? I'm chuffed that we actually got Almiron and am really excited to see him play, but he should've been in earlier if we had any competence to bed him in to the ethos of the team. It's a last ditch attempt to placate Rafa and was paid for with a loan rather than the club's money. Where's it gone fat Ash, you cunt? Love Miggy though. Barreca doesn't seem an awe inducing signing but it's depth in a position we've needed competition in for Dummett for years. Apparently quick, which is good. Don't know too much about him. We've loaned out players that need games, especially Murphy. Not too arsed about Aarons or Lazaar.

    Rafa Benítez

Aye, unreal. Not surprised with it being from the Daily Mail but am surprised that it's Craig Hope that's written it.

For those that don't want to give the Fail clicks
  4. Him and Jim White. Why the hell am I even watching this shite, switching it off.
  5. Not great news for us. Might be a permanent apparently. They weren't going down anyway, really.
  6. Zaha, Batshuayi, Townsend is an impressive front 3, like.
  7. I have to admit that I'm utterly clueless about the guy apart from a few clips which is why I'm excited about watching him. Hopefully you're spot on and he changes our season.
  8. I'd probably argue for this for the Huddersfield and Burnley double header in a few weeks.
  9. Him and Perez go wide when we're out of possession and defending in low block in like a 5-4-1. When we're attacking we go to like a 5-3-1-1 with Perez behind Rondon and Atsu in like a sort of free(ish) role in front of Longstaff and Hayden, or 5-2-2-1 with the two of them either side of Rondon. It seems to vary.
  10. Just seems harsh on Perez if he's dropped imo. It's about the balance of the team and knowing Rafa's tendencies. the team you posted but Atsu or Kenedy for Perez is what i think he'll do. Not really about Perez is more it is that Rafa will see it to be important to have some natural width alongside Almiron and Rondon. Maybe, but Almiron like you say has been bought as a #10. If we stick with the 5-3-1-1 I'm not sure where the width could come from aside from the wing backs.
  11. Maybe, but I want to see Almiron behind Rondon in the #10 role. We don't really play with wingers and Atsu I don't actually think has done that badly in that quasi CM position, although he's so frustrating when on the ball most of the time. Nice headache for Rafa to have I suppose.

  13. Assuming everyone is fit, I'd go: Dubravka Schär Lascelles/Fernandez Lejeune Yedlin Ki Diame/Longstaff Ritchie Perez Almirón Rondón Tough choice on the midfield and between Lascelles and Fernandez due to how the former played on Tuesday.
  14. Because of what Atlanta were asking for him I think. Why were we in for him then? Because Rafa wanted him and has done for quite a while. I meant Ashley lol. Can apply the same logic. Don't want to negate any of my or any others' excitement over watching him play but it's a last ditch attempt to placate Rafa paid for with a loan from Barclays. This is where my head's at. As exciting as it is, this is only exciting because of our history in windows and the extremely low bar that Ashley has set us and (most importantly) you know nothing has really changed and this is exactly what you've just said in bold. Really looking forward to all of the games next month which is a great feeling to have back when you look at how we all felt between losing to Watford and the win v Man City coupled with news of Almiron on his way over. Can't wait to see the lad play, but the fat cunt is still in charge and still chokes the club. It's so weird. These are my feelings about it all, anyway. Don't worry too much about it, after the summer with Rafa gone another alleged 'takeover' collapse you'll be back to hating the club you love. Well if that turns out to be the case better make the most of the rest of this season then, eh?
