Very true. Just thinking about it since they were promoted; 2018-19: Both games on TV. Yedlin sent off, originally marked for boycott home game and Dubravka being climbed all over by Boly Monday night away game. 2019-20: Home game on TV. Longstaff sent off. 2020-21: COVIDball. 2021-22: Home game on TV. Friday night Chris Wood pen. 2022-23: Both games on TV. Saint-Maximin volley away game and Isak & Almirón goals in a 2-1 win home game.

I'm almost 23 and been banging this drum for a couple years now. Since promotion in 2017 it's massively deteriorated.

I think last night it was a case of expecting to beat Dortmund; they had 1 point, were yet to score and hadn't won in England for 7 and a half years. I felt it went flat after 20 minutes; it took a similar pattern as PSG, Dembele had a chance early doors just like Dortmund did last night but the difference was we scored early v PSG. The longer the first half went on without us scoring the flatter it got. That seeped into the 2nd half.

Posted this a few times now I think but there's a row of seats in the East Stand; a mate of my dad's, my old seat, my dad, another mate of my dad's, mate of mine. I was buying my old seat all of last season and the season before. I'll likely never get it again, whereas others are winning it in the ballot, sitting there and have been deadpan silent. There was a young lass there last night who left at HT. There was a student on his phone for most of the game there against Palace. While I'm fucking desperate to get in for any/every game and am sitting in seats I never would in years gone by. Understand this is a bit selfish but it's fucking shite.

Aye was almost always on the left of the 3-4-3 under Benitez. Bruce moved to a 4-4-1-1 for the games just before and just after COVID in 2019-20 but was only a handful of games.
-
The ballot does play a canny big part though with the lifting randomly allocated seats. Likeminded fans would/could get together and sit in the corner or just together in general to sing rather than singing on their tod surrounded by miserable gadgies. Part of the experience of going to the match is going with your mates or family, no? Out of my 3 ballot successes I've only been happy with 1 of the seats I've been given. Then the resale is just wherever you can get; I'd never choose to sit in the Milburn but it was all I could get for last night, Liverpool and Man City in the League Cup. Wouldn't choose to sit behind a goal either but had to for Brentford.

He played on the left of a 3-4-3 under Benitez; him, Rondon and Perez. He's only ever played as a 10 for us a handful of times, most of those under Stephen Roger funnily enough.

Dunno if its me just looking at it from a geet selfish POV but it feels like those are the sort of people the club wants getting tickets whereas non-ST holders who've been going to most games for years they couldn't give a shit about. All about "growing the fanbase". None of the issues from this season were happening last season AFAIK. Should speak volumes to the club but I honestly think they'll just dig their heels in; don't think they give a toss.

Was getting pissed on by the rain all night even sat in the Milburn. Minging weather. Looked like I swam across the Tyne to get home when I finally got back.

Don't think we press anywhere near as well without him.

Sat in the Milburn tonight, absolutely no one singing. Just me looking like a daftie singing on my own trying to join in with the chants from the Gallowgate. Meanwhile in my old ST seat which I was buying for all of the last 2 and a half years in between family and mates of mine was some young lass who buggered off at half time. And against Palace on Saturday there was a student there who spent the overwhelming majority of the match on his phone. Whilst I'm scrambling about desperate for anywhere in the ground, even when at graft. Fantastic stuff from the club.

Everything about that was just flat imo. Performance both team wise and individually, atmosphere, game itself. Don't think anyone stood out as being particularly bad or great. Isak injury had me whiteying. Got fucking soaked sat in bloody Bar 1892 as well. Made qualifying for the Ro16 much harder now. Need something from one of the away games and need to beat Milan at home. Big ask with the stretched squad we've got.

Just chatted to a couple after they stopped and commented how much they liked the 96-97 coat I'm wearing as it reminds them of Shearer. If any of those Barrack Road post match knuckle draggers are out tonight I'm going to be fuming.

Dortmund fans mixing everywhere, quite a few in the Redhouse.

Leicester 14 points clear of 3rd already.

Can't remember as many early leavers as there was yesterday, like. I've personally only left before the FT whistle twice, the 0-6 v Liverpool and the second 0-3 v the mackems. Never when winning. This ticketing system only has detriments in all regards. My old ST seat I've been buying for the last 2 seasons in between my dad and 3 mates? I'd kill to be back in that seat but the guy who had it yesterday was apparently on his phone for nigh on the whole match. Meanwhile I'm almost at pitch level, unable to see the opposite touchline and am being asked to sit down when we're on the break. Just utter shit.

Win this and we should be guaranteed Europa League in the new year at least I think. None of the sides that dropped down to the Europa League last season had 7 points or more.
-
Great day yesterday, always nice to put faces to names. Apologies to my Black Team teammates, turns out that gallivanting the night before playing football at 9:30am isn't the wisest thing to do. Let the side down there. Got a bandaged up ankle to top it all off.
-
Not on mornings it doesn't (when I need it), and the night service is only Friday and Saturday nights. Plus with the Go North East strikes those may as well not exist.
-
This was my second ever game so aye, I'm going.
-
Only just catching up on all this and I know it'll never happen, but fucking hell would the Red Line make my life 100x easier.

3pm kick off, Saturday. Genuinely amazed at that.
