We can't sell everybody.
-
Yeah. I think a quality left footed CB would be better. Somebody that can cover for Lewis, [with Almiron doing his usual energetic tracking back] If they can pass as well that's a bonus.
-
Yep. Another leech out to get a free lunch, just like his friends in the media.
-
The issue with Fonseca appears to be that his system struggles to defend, but I assume he picks players to suit that system, including more adventurous defenders than we currently have. It might work.
-
I imagine a coach who emphasises possession will have training methods to suit. And don't cite Bruce as an example. he is anything but a coach with a plan, or any methods.
-
He wouldn't make it to the end.
-
Rees Mogg does.
-
I refuse to read anything about him, like I say sooner he disappears the better. But I can't help feeling the media are ripping the piss out of him with the headlines.
-
It doesn't, but if Staveley sells the club like she sold her dream then it may well have a bearing.
-
This is what I was alluding to in my above post. It's all well and good to show respect, at the appropriate time, but it can become patronising if you are doing it without context.
-
I've wanted him gone since before he came, and I cant wait for the moment he disappears forever, but I can't deny he has been comedy value and it continues. What kind of bloke cries to the press about being called an inept cabbage-head?

Is that not because Mexicans don't dress like the parody fancy dress, though? I suppose it is fair to say that Saudi Arabians don't wear tea towels like. and that's the thing I suppose. The Mexican cliche was allowed to persist for so long that it gets up their noses, understandably. The Saudi Arabians might want to avoid that. A warm welcome is all well and good, but it's just that. A welcome.

Back 3 of Schar, Lascelles and Fernandez, Manquiloo and Lewis as WBs. Hayden and Willock in the moddle with Almiron, ASM and Wilson up front. If he can get some spirit in the camp we should do enough to survive.
-
That's cracking. Just goes to show they're busy doing more than just looking for a new manager.
-
Good point. As always, it's not what they say, it's more what they don't say.

Got me thinking about carveries now. Nom nom. John's Lick Yer Lips Carvery

Pretty sure it's a carry over from the nativity.

That wasn't a summation of any kind. In fact my last sentence made that clear. The meat of my comment clearly indicated that my anecdote had nowt to do with how one should behave in the event of having your football club bought out by a royal family. It's comparable to the Queen telling the world how she feels about British culture. I have made no objection to the statement, I support it 100%.
-
TBH I don't think it will be much of a problem. That's not to say I don't appreciate the statement. But they also acknowledged that they understood, and appreciated it as a welcoming gesture. There might be one or two, in the next week, who haven't heard the statement, but after that it is wholly idiotic to continue.
-
Think you've ignored the meat of my comment in order to antagonise. No surprise.

Can't wait to see Almiron playing in his best position, with that smile.

It's funny how you forget something for your entire life, until somebody says something and Bang! It's there. Back in 1979 we were in Tunisia and the women of my family were spat upon, by Tunisian women, for the way they were dressed ,typical holiday wear. Was always something that fascinated me, and yet the memory has never been triggered in any conversation pertaining to the oppression of Muslim women. It was, as i said, back in '79, and cultural appropriation wasn't a thing [certainly not to me], but I was quite sympathetic to their feelings, if a little disgusted by their response. Not using this to represent Muslim women in any way, or even to make a point. I just think it can be tricky to respect the culture of another when you've no idea how the other feels about their culture.

These guys still incompetent? I've been decorating all day and haven't kept up.

Think I'd prefer that narrative to Bruce is so good nobody else can even dream.

The convo between Shearer and Bruce, in the pub, will be crazy. Shearer was promised the manager's job but heard nothing, Bruce has been promised the sack, but heard nothing.
