An assist and a key pass that led to another goal against Liverpool was good enough for me . He has to be towards the attacking portion of the midfield he has the vision to slot Isak in. The Liverpool game showed exactly how the three should and could work. Unless there was an injury Howe cocked it up not playing the same three again .

Howe would have played the best midfield available away to Liverpool or Arsenal for example. He's completely disrespected Brentford (best home record in the league) and that on top of not acceptable from a Sunday league side defending has cost us ......again

I thought or maybe it should be hoped that the Liverpool performance and the success of Tonali, Bruno and Joelinton in our midfield had shown Howe the way forward. I was obviously wrong. Starting to worry he's got the death spiral blinkers on of a manager near the end of his reign.

I don't know if Eddie is a more attractive football Sam Allardyce in that he knows how to take points from big six teams and struggles to break opponents who sit in or if it's a motivation issue with the players themselves. No . There's a degree of recency bias of course in my reply but there's too many performances where we're not playing well and not getting the results against supposedly inferior teams. Add to that the manager seems inflexible with tactics that aren't really working and players are generally playing worse than they were. I hope I'm wrong and maybe a returning Botman, some clever transfer business and the fact that barring Liverpool every team seems dogged by inconsistency might mean we put together a run in last few months but at the moment it's very much one step forward two back .
