  1. Another angle to throw in… I know for a fact (from various horses mouths) that Maxi is not a popular figure in the dressing room.
  2. Gordon because he has a tonne of potential and can cover 3 positions. Barnes because Maxi contributed next to nothing in our best season for 25 years, and Barnes is a far more productive player with a better fitness record. It’s not rocket science.
  3. Look, at the end of the day, we’ve just had our best season in 25 years, and Maxi contributed hardly anything to it. As much as I love him when he’s on his day, to sell him for around £25-£30m and bring in Barnes is a no-brainer really… a player who is far more productive and likely fit more often (albeit less exciting)… and it may also free up FFP slightly to allow us to get another position covered in the process too.
  4. Or… it’s purposefully slightly low to not bring controversy to our door? Mind you, it’s not THAT low. £30m - £35m is his range in my opinion, which will be backed up by his stats, injury record, the fact he’s not an international player etc.
  5. I’m absolutely fine with us selling him asking as he’s replaced with a player capable of playing 80% of a season and with an eye for goal. €25m seems low, but who knows how accurate that is.
  6. Errr, that was far more Bruno's fault than Darlow wasn't it?
  7. Not a fucking chance. We’ll sign two more minimum.
  8. That obviously isn’t going to happen though. Getting a new left back frees up Burn to be a backup CB. Which is fine. In terms of right back, we should probably be looking for a player who can cover RCB and RB… what’s Aaron Hughes doing these days?
  9. This forum as detached from reality as always, I see ?
  10. It’s irrelevant anyway. We will definitely make at least 2 more signings before the end of the window.
  11. He pretty much was. Posted on IG last night pictures of him and his family on the plane home. He could easily have just arrived back into England this morning.
  12. I know... there's some mental takes. Almiron is one of the last people we should be thinking of getting rid of. Tremendous member of the squad.
  13. He wasn't. He had a tough first few months, but he was excellent towards the end of the season. Forest supporting friend raves about him. (That's not to say that I'd want him though)
  14. It's really easy to just ignore it you know.
  15. None of those stats correlate to anything I’ve seen of him. He always seems dangerous and heavily involved in the game. I watched a lot of a Leicester towards the end of the season and he was always one of the few to put a real shift in ?‍♂️
  16. He's easily as exciting as Diaby. Think the only pushback I would have on this deal is that it only really makes sense if ASM is leaving or if Howe is planning on using ASM centrally.
  17. Have you actually seen Barnes play? He's incredibly effective, and rapid.
  18. From his YouTube videos, he seems surprisingly two footed, rapid, and an EXCELLENT finisher.
  19. I will say, mind, I don't think Howe is anywhere near as worried about the RW position as some of our fans seem to be. To be honest, I'm not either. Almiron and Murphy were two huge players for us last year, who completely bought into the work ethic and shape of the team. He won't be desperate to move either of them on.
  20. I think this is a really exciting signing to be honest. Tonnes of end product. I assume it means ASM is going, which would be a shame, but maybe Eddie is tempted to try ASM out elsewhere perhaps? Maxi always said his best position was central.
