My absolute hero… no hesitation, nothing.. I absolutely love the bloke…. 40 odd years ago, it’s still as clear as day when I was watching the news as a young lad and it was announced he’d signed… that along with the cup final win are the happiest days of my ‘footballing’ life… What this man did for this football club and the city of Newcastle should never be underestimated… ever…

We need to be looking for an experienced., quality, established centre back… basically someone the others can look up to and learn from… and preferably a leader who can help put a stop to leaking goals in the last few minutes of matches… sure they’re out there somewhere… -
Tuchel obviously wants one dedicated left back and o’reilly is his man… burn can play left back if needs be (ok not as good as hall) and Tino (when fit) has proved himself on both flanks… Think Tuchel also wants burn as part of the leadership team with the likes of Henderson and Kane… Gutted for Hall though, hopefully he gets focussed over the summer and comes back raring to go for next season…

If it is his last game I hope he gets a decent send off, I’ve enjoyed having him here… no sentiment in football nowadays, players won’t hang around, especially if there’s no Europe so good luck to the lad….
-
Ok, sure many will disagree and not sure if he’s already sorted a move away ie to Everton but I’d go out and get John Stones for nowt… He’d bring leadership qualities which is evidently lacking and would be the ideal centre back partner to actually develop Thiaw or Botman, not just play alongside.. A very good player with vast amounts of experience who can lead the back line… which would also be great for Hall and Tino (should he stay). The lack of European matches he would be asked to play would also be helpful… Think he’s 31, so at least 3 years playing at a high level… I understand he probably doesn’t fit the model age wise but it’s a position where experience and quality is vital… and may, just may help not concede as many last minute goals next season…

So on a par with Bobby Shinton in the early 80’s …. Not all doom and gloom then…
-
Yep, but he’d need to start jumping for headers every once in a while…

We should have battered them today… knocked out of Europe, key players missing and having played on Thursday… We on the other hand have had another clear week to train and fully prepare leading up to this… and with one of the strongest squads we’ve had this season… Today summed up the majority of the season… not good enough and badly let down in the closing minutes.. and not just the league, we fucked ourselves over against Man City and Barcelona in the cups… very disappointing sums it up….
-
Once we hit 1 game a week I really thought we would really kick on, especially with 95% of the squad back… Think this is what has disappointed me most… we just haven’t improved at all… Im not sure how many of the players are fully committed or not… but it doesn’t look great either for Eddie, or on Eddie… Would I be against a managerial change for next season… not so sure now tbh…

The more I want Wolte to do well the worse the fucker gets…

That’s the spirit….

A win win situation in my book… go gangbusters in the last 3 games and pick up 9 points… if we qualify for Conference, great, it’s a winnable competition and some decent games/grounds along the way… If we don’t qualify we can focus 100% on the league and 2 domestic trophies… no excuses and a definite chance of success… Whey I’m looking forward to the new season already….

Pep last season… didn’t he have something like 1 win in 13 at some stage and a run of defeats the season before… Arteta.. also had a bad run a few seasons ago and as things stand has won the same number of key trophies as Eddie… Likewise, im pretty sure Klopp also had a bad run at some point…. Now compare these clubs to the likes of Chelsea, Man U and Spurs over recent seasons… and the numerous managerial disasters weve all enjoyed witnessing there… and how it affected them… For me this might be the right time to err on the side of caution, back Eddie to turn things round and see if we can kick on again next season…

Sure Davy Mac scored a novelty goal in that match, now what a legend that fella was…mind it was never the most welcoming of venues Leicester was it…

As things stand today I’m all for having Eddie in charge next season… We know this season has been a mess from start to finish, and we need to draw a line under it… For the first time ever I’m in 2 minds on how beneficial it would be to qualify for a Europa place next season… never thought I’d say that but that’s how I feel… Ownership and end of season transfers aside, right now it’s the players who are underperforming that need to be held accountable and Eddie must address this.. I don’t believe for one minute they’re not aware of players personal intentions.. I think we’re not far from a 2016 Lascelles scenario where someone gets all the players together, looks them in the eye and demands a response… and if theyre thinking of fucking off get on with it..
