  1. Thing is with the majority of fans now they have heard it all before an know it’s all just a PR exercise and they ignore it. There will still be some who are taken in by it but that percentage of fans now is very low. On a separate note talking to someone yesterday who knows Dabizas and he was saying if a player throws a shirt into the crowd they get invoiced it off the club. Not sure if that was common knowledge but it just shows what a tight bastard he is.
  2. They will always come out from under their rocks now and again they will be back under soon.
  3. Mike Ashley has taken money from this club maybe not directly himself but his company sports direct and MASH holdings have. The fact he gets free advertising (and by the way turning away companies that want to advertise their business at St James and in the matchday program as they are seen as direct competition to his business) has taken a load of possible money from Newcastle. You have to also think what he gets from merchandise. Take into consideration the deal he had at Rangers 93p from every £1 sold of merchandise went to Sports Direct. There is no way he hasn't got that deal with Newcastle. Of course Puma would have paid to make the strips and would get most of the income from these being sold but every club would have an agreement with the manufacturer to receive 10% to 15% of any sale of the strips. So if a top is sold for £65 and say we have an agreement for 15% of that then £9.75 should be going to Newcastle but if he has the same deal as Rangers £9.06 is going to Sports Direct and 69p to Newcastle. This will all go towards the money he has just spent on buying HOF however little it may be instead of Newcastle.
  4. If anything it would help stir up a storm, not calm it. Just think it may mean some people take their eye off the ball if they think we may be finally rid of him again.
  5. Staveley being mentioned again on twitter Dont fall for these rumours it will be another ploy from Keith Bishops PR team to try and calm the oncoming storm
  6. Really ? I think Rafa is 100% right to only sign after the money has been spent. Ashley simply wouldn't follow through with any promises. Even then, he should only be looking to sign something like a 1 year rolling contract. If I was Rafa, there's no way that i'd commit to 3 years. Spot on
  7. The Sun article tells me he is trying his usual tactic of leaking bullshit stories to push the blame onto someone else. So this one is saying it’s not our fault we haven’t spent any money we offered that nasty Mr Benítez £100 million but he was so bitter he wouldn’t except it. Problem is 90% of the fan base have now got wise to his shitty tactics.
  8. He is always smiling wouldn't read too much into that. He won't be after he leaves having sat through an hour of Lee Charnley's holiday snaps as that is the only update from the summer so far.

    Aston Villa

Did anyone read the Daily Mail article about it and see this part. ‘Tom Watson, deputy leader of the Labour party, has written to Matt Hancock, Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, to ask what practical steps are being taken by the government to ensure Villa's survival. 'It is inconceivable that a club of this size and history, with such economic and cultural importance to the local area, can simply be allowed to go out of business and disappear,' Watson wrote. 'It would be a national disgrace were that to occur.'’ What the fuck does he want the government to do? Boils my piss that. It’s the clubs own fault why should the government help them. I’m sure Leeds, Portsmouth etc were all important to their local community and are historical clubs what makes Villa so special the pompous prick.
  10. He doesn’t score many like. Is he really what we want upfront???
  11. Christ She was sitting not far from me. Saw that sign and thought fuck me you could have made a better one like hope they don’t show that on Sky.
  12. I honestly think (Hope) it would be different this time. But if it isn't and 52k still turn up every week we deserve everything we get.
  13. It's different this time. Season ticket holders who I have spoken to who would never walk away in the past have all said if Rafa goes that is finally it for them. Look at the amount of people that stayed behind at the end of the Chelsea game. That was for Rafa we all did that. Yes we wanted to show our appreciation to the players but the main reason was to show Rafa how much we wanted him to be there. The fall out to Rafa leaving would be on a level that Ashley has never seen before and would just prove to me that he is genuinely get some pleasure from seeing Newcastle fans hopes sky high and then come crashing down and he doesn't care about losing money at the club.
  14. This If Rafa leaves everything comes tumbling down around Ashley’s ears. Fans will walk away, there will be major protests. Players will ask to leave and no decent player will want to go anywhere near the club. If Ashley’s idea is to wipe millions of pounds of the price of his asset and to basically have us heading in the direction of Sunderland then yes this WestHam link has played right into his hand. More than likely this is going to strengthen Benitez’s negotiation hand.
  15. I think he has complimented managers before in statements. I say he, I mean the PR team (aka Keith Bishop) at Newcastle as someone else would have wrote that and he would have given it a thumbs up. It's all a game to him just like his business deals. Unfortunately for Ashley he has now come up against a manager who knows better than him how to play this game in football and if he loses Rafa he can kiss goodbye to any profit he may have made on Newcastle as the club will be on a downward spiral after that.
  16. More so the fact that the Chronicle have spent years licking his hoop. They are only doing this because they know he’s on his way out. I really hope your right
  17. Think maybe we should use the Chelsea game to make a statement to Ashley. Not saying protests or anything but maybe a full game of Rafa chants and Ashley out chants. Maybe some flyers with back Rafa or we leave. Need him to realise sell or back Rafa.
  18. He probably did fail his medical but then they realised a 1 legged Slimani is probably better than a 2 legged Joselu
  19. It’s a loan doesn’t even need a medical he gets knackered we send him back simple
  20. We only have 3 on loan unless I am missing something and also is it not 5 loans maxium?? 3 this window plus didn't merino count? Merino isn't a current loan so no, wouldn't count. Total of four per season according to the premier league site though? Happy to be wrong though, even if getting a third person today is a moot point. It's a bit ambiguous like the rule - The maximum number of loans registrable in the same season is four, and, under no circumstances, shall more than one be from the same club at any one time. I would take that as Merino is not currently registered as a loan therefore allowing us a extra loan deal. Doesn't make a difference like as it would have to be a loan from abroad and unless they are currently sitting waiting for a plane to pick them up they wont get here in time.

  22. I would expect a professional footballer to pick Rafa over Alan Pardew tbh. Exactly :snod:
