  1. Viera's response is exactly what our players would do in that situation and we would laud the shithousing. It was a foul, but I don't think that was a yellow card in isolation. Maybe the ref gave it for an accumulation of fouls or something, which I think they can do.
  2. I agree that Gabriel throws himself forwards after the contact, but to me it looks like Gabriel is prevented from getting the ball by Joelinton's two hands in the back move before that happens. I said already that I think the slightly theatrical way Gabriel goes down hasn't helped his cause, maybe. If you watch it through, you can see that Joelinton has two arms in Gabriel's back and his weight forward, which stops Gabriel from rising to meet the ball. And I just don't think it is allowed for a player to use his hands/arms like that on an opponent?
  3. Of course, but you can't just stick two hands in an opponents back and prevent them from jumping. Last I post on it, or we end up going around in circles. Unless someone can prove that you are allowed to do what Joelinton did.
  4. Ah yeah, of course. I think that is just how it has always been as well? Just so much nonsense surrounding the offside rules that I've forgotten a core basic that has stayed the same for my entire lifetime watching the sport
  5. It prevented Gabriel from making contact with the ball, which is a foul. A player can't put two hands in an opponents back and then lean in like that - it is just a foul.
  6. Looking at the incident again now and I'm now 100% that it should've been ruled out because of Joelinton's two hands in the back of Gabriel. Can understand the fume on that one.
  7. I dunno, I think all 3 points that VAR checked were warranted. Did Willock keep the ball in play? They didn't have the technology or camera angle available to make a precise decision. It looked like it was still in play, so they couldn't rule that out. Did Joelinton stick two hands in Gabriel's back and prevent him from heading the ball? Yeah So, out of the three this is the one that I feel VAR should've acted on. I guess Gabriel does a little swan dive after the contact which makes it look like he played for it under minimal contact. Probably cost him. Was Gordon then offside after Joelinton plays the ball in the challenge on Gabriel? I haven't got a clue what the offside rule is now and it seems that VAR didn't have an angle or a frame available to rule on that one so had to let it go.
  8. Wait, what? That makes zero sense!?
  9. Aye, I definitely wanted him moved on. Utterly wrong. He's a fucking don. I mean, he is still pretty limited with the ball, but he's trained and been coached to a point where he is a rock solid squad player for us at this moment in time. And his mentality and leadership is elite. Hopefully he is with us for years to come.
  10. Everyone else away celebrating the Gordon goal and this guy is stood right next to the referee making sure the hoard of Arsenal players can't have their way. This guy
  11. Bruno desperate for his suspension to be against Bournemouth. WHAT HAVE I GOT TO DO TO GET BOOKED!?
  12. Probably wanted to get the suspension out the way.

    Fabian Schär

Hopefully he has some Maldini-esc career and just continues on dominating into his late 30s.
  14. This man has some strength of character. Incredible.
  15. Another player who has gone up levels under Howe. Fucking hell, what a man Lascelles is.
  16. Man Utd and Arsenal dispatched inside a few days without conceding a goal.
