Aye, I posted this in the membership thread. When I go back for games I stop with me folks who are in County Durham but the next bus stop is in Gateshead.

I rang Nexus and the woman I spoke to’s solution was (if not walking to the stop within Tyne and Wear cos it’s tipping down) to show the Magpie Mover and pay to go one stop  Farcical, really.

Not for the want of turning another thread all political BUT....North of Tyne Mayor, Jamie Driscoll, has been pushing for a region wide oyster card type effort.

De-regulation of buses being the main obsticle

    they lost 2-0 to Roma

Pre season friendly and all that which, tbf, wasn't too shabby a result given the opposition but some of them were saying Matete was playing so well the top clubs would be looking. The new Dan Neil, if you will

See they lost to Stevenage in a game today, I know it doesn't mean much given its pre-season, but it's still funny as fuck

Tbf we struggled against them and it wasn't even a friendly ?

Who does he need to outshine to be our favourite (living memory, @HTT II!) Scottish player?
I’ll start the ball rolling with Roy Aitken.

Alex Mathie, just for that goal.

    Duncan Ferguson for sheer presence

  5. Was trying to find, unsuccessfully, videos of the Uncle Micks ??

    when I landed on this.

Quite like Luke O'nein tbf (STID incite) and like his attitude at the end but two things spring to mind.

Letting supporter violence go unpunished isn't going to stifle it

And I thought, if a crime's deemed to have been committed, the police don't need the "victim's" permission to proceed and charge?

This is a ridiculous and self harming attitude to have

Gayle needs to go, for it to be on a permanent someone will need to offer close to what we pay him which is unlikely.

A loan deal where some/most of his wages are covered benefits us

Luckily for the club the grown ups are running it now. Pragmatism will rule.

Relates to an attack in Marbella last month. If people were to look at 29 year old footballers Instagrams, one of them was in Marbella last month.

    Presumably an extradition order imminent

I’ve seen him play, very talented, but there is another kid at Boro way ahead of most I’ve seen at that level. A young Ian Wright! SAFC let him go, he’s now at Boro!

His parents need to meet Eddie and Dan then ?

Nearly all unless you include the entire entertainment industry which is almost exclusively on the left, but obviously they're all very working class and on the bread line..

Countering a sweeping generalisation with another sweeping generalisation doesn't a point make.

True many in the entertainment industry are classed as being "on the left" but, in reality, are plain liberals who'll protect their wealth when push comes to shove.

Liberals always side with the establishment in the end.

For every Liniker I'll give you a Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber

Mind not all footballers are like England's Mickey Owen either

Sorry to bring it to your attention but Mandy is a massive tory too.

Nearly all rich people are. The rich will always rich. My probs with young Jamie is his hanging around the foodbank for props.

Honestly think he's got the Keegan effect of making players believe and perform better than they are. I was more impressed with what he done with the team with the big names missing tbh. A lot are forgetting we done it with out Trippier and Wilson for most of the back half of the season. Even having Targett and Trippier starting in the same team will be massive man with a centre forward who can actually move.

Absolutely. I cringe at some of the patter about some of the squad. Especially given most of them will still be in it come August. Mind it's a struggle not to sit here and watch all those videos from the latter half of the season, the players interviews etc etc and not get carried away. You can totally see how and why the players are buzzing. Insane transformation in such a short space of time.

Only one team has Eddie Howe though wouldn't swap him for anyone else in the league.

Nor I. It's a funny one with him and how the season panned out. I'm very much on the side of the so called "dead wood", including Mr Wood himself, in as much as Eddie got them all turned around. People can, and do, argue till the cows come home about each players contributions but it worked.

Goes without saying (but I will anyway) that their individual improvements may not be sustainable but I totally trust him to know what to do. Add the new players and on we go.

edited ps.  agree about Pep and Klopp.

Looking at it logically, Man City, Liverpool are top 2.

I think Spurs under Conte are going to challenge, he is formidable.

Chelsea I'm unsure about under new owners but I rate Tuchel highly plus a strong base set of players.

Man U will have a better season, plus Sancho and VDB are like new signings

Top 6 could be doable, Arsenal are an unknown entity as of yet, they still seem too soft. So could definitely challenge for top 6 for sure.

I'm not one for fully reading threads and posts but, to avoid the accusations of unrealistic expectations from us Mags by others, I'm going to start using the phrase ".......could challenge for 6th".

Everyone knows the top 4, barring miracles, is stitched. Agree with your assessment of Man U and Arsenal. I'd be over the moon with 6th.

Hell of a lot of teams are going to improve, IF, and it's a big IF, all their signings graft.
