Well I would say how can the LB (and for a period the RB position too) position, us being torched in defence be a reflection of people in great form. I cant see how conceding 3 goals per game and being only being bettered by Sheff U didn't warrant trying other options. The thing is, apart from training how would you know given the alternatives never made it onto the field? The alternatives should have been fresh as all get out given they never play......

I agree. I am concerned about the lack of learning. The rubber will meet the road next season one way or another. He said in his presser on Friday he plays people on merit for instance and IMO that is clearly not true.
-
Barnes and Hall seems strange buys, considering LW and LB are 2 areas we have a number options.
-
Makes no sense that we would play a 17 year old for entire games but Hall no minutes at all.

Queens Park Raisins for the win!!!

Miggy and Wilson could bring in enough money to leverage another striker and maybe a DMF. I think they need to seriously look at Minteh and see if he cant be developed here at RW.
-
If we cant make much progress on the pitch then its time to get some wins off the pitch. Time for PIF and Co to get a move on and give some kind of updates on the training ground and the stadium.

Well whomever identified Castle Leazes they did it for a reason. My point is, that work must be floating around somewhere that the current owners could read and see why that site was preferred. For instance, the issues regarding SJP are no different now from what they were then. The main difference from the 90s I would think is that there may be different brown field sites available now to then. Given it seems from a fan perspective and a transport infrastructure perspective that being close to the city center would be a better solution then Castle Leazes would appear to be the obvious choice. Somehow the owners have to overcome the NIMBYs.

I have never believed staying in the exact same location was ever a realistic option, for multiple reasons, including the inability to expand much and the disruption to revenue while you upgrade by a few thousand. Also, St James just was not build to maximize revenue. If fans want to stay close by then Leazes Park/Castle Leazes is the place, as Sir John Hall already identified.

It's true but are we capable? Shipping 3 goals a game isn't going to get anything done. Whatever he tries the problems seem to remain. Here's hoping he can figure out why this keeps on happening.

Waiting with baited breath. Tik Tok.

He's in a bad run of form, probably worn out as he has played almost every game. He's a useful member of the squad and would be part of the rotation if we hadn't had all of these injuries. People are looking for a scape goat: yes he is playing like crap now but there are few alternatives.
-
This season has been a frustrating one. I guess we have to just be patient and hope the club is able to re tool the squad somewhat. The weaknesses have been laid bare and now we can see we really did over achieve last year. This horrific run of injuries hasn't helped but it is what it is.

Interesting what he uncovered. Just like the St James Metro site, its entirely possible that PIF will swoop in and purchase the 3 sites and the heliport guy I'm sure would be enticed by $$$. The main thing I got from it is that they have to decide reasonably soon before the houses are started.

If only that were true though. With the exception of a small number of brave souls, our fans put up with Ashley for over 15 years.
-
Mowbray out Marra! That was the dumbest decision ever.
-
Never a pen. Went down way to easy. Mackems actually played quite well but if Leicester are the best in the Champo, it's not saying much for the overall standard.
-
Rigg looks quite bright. Maybe the Mackems could be our feeder club LOL
-
Is something going on in Sunderland tonight? Lots of empty seats.

Almost daffodil season. Dan is on the job.

It seems to me moving North West and building 3/4 of the new ground ahead of time is the only remotely feasible "stay" option otherwise it's go elsewhere. The question is how much opposition would there be to taking a piece of Leazes Park?
-
Right: two years with a much smaller capacity or move someplace else for two years (seems unlikely). The more you think about it, a new ground makes most sense.
-
I think it's almost time to bring him into the squad. We could possibly sell Miggy to ease FFP and have him play that position
