  1. Ashley actually said "NOPE!" when asked those questions in the pub, not another word. It was a mate of Ketch's as well, just so it doesn't get back to him or owt Thanks for correcting me just a further example anyway of what sort of person Ashley really is.
  2. I remember last summer after the Braga match this guy saw Ashley at a pub and asked him if was going to back Benitez in the transfer market which Ashley responded by saying not a penny more which turned out to be true. Its why Ashley not giving Benitez and his coaching staff bonuses is not a big and he just set out to make life as difficult as possible for Benitez if he didn't fall in line. https://twitter.com/ketchell/status/1161198894077947907
  3. Reading that article just makes me want to see the club fail even more now. There are far more ambitious and well run clubs that deserve Premier League football.
  4. I noticed Phil Neville joined a long list of pundits praising Ashley for being a good businessman. I'm fairly sure owners at other Premier League clubs are successful businessmen, but are still able to run their football clubs competently yet we only hear the good businessman comment when it comes to Ashley. Its a discussion about football what Ashley does at Sports Direct means nothing in the context of how he is poorly running Newcastle.
  5. I didn't watch the match yesterday so I'm only basing it on what fans and journalists said, but its not a good sign for Bruce if the team are already looking disorganised, players not knowing what they are doing or where they are supposed to be playing and not even naming another centre midfielder on the bench. He is meant to be this vastly experienced manager at this level yet that is Non League levels of incompetence. Its only one match and even the best managers make mistakes, however I thought at least for couple of months the foundations Benitez laid for Bruce would protect him for a while yet there are already cracks showing. Some fans saying "Benitez lost the same match last season" and "Benitez went 10 matches without a win", but you could trust Benitez to find a plan to turn things around and he did. Bruce won't have a clue what to do when things get worse. Even at this early stage, Norwich is a big match for Bruce. Lose that and looking at the next few fixtures after he will struggle to turn things around. I can't see Bruce lasting until the end of the season, but the club will drag it out just like with McClaren by which the time it will be too late.
  6. All these pundits saying what a great manager Bruce is yet they all predict Newcastle to be relegated or struggle to stay up.
  7. https://www.football365.com/news/dirty-city-solskjaer-was-right-to-call-man-city-on-tactical-fouls Thanks. I also found this video to explain it further in detail. I was a bit surprised Burnley are the cleanest team according to the stats in the video.
  8. Pellegrini has accused Man City of committing too many tactical fouls. I have seen a few managers say this about Guardiolas teams now. Are there any stats that show this to be the case?
  9. If Newcastle were looking for a cheap option to help support Joelinton in the goals department then they should have went for Llorente on a free transfer. Instead they went for the cynical option in Carroll instead of signing a decent striker for football reasons. The club might as well have kept Joselu because at least he can stay fit. There is no point saying Carroll can do this or that if fit because its not a question if he can keep fit his body is just incapable of not being injured. I remember the same thing was said about Diaby at Arsenal, but injuries ruined his potential. Even in the unlikely scenario Carroll does stay fit he is not the same player he was 9 years ago. Its not like he was this elite player before his injury problems that can change a match with 10 mins left in a match. He was a decent player at his best, but nothing special.
  10. I would be Casemiro because I could kick the s*** out of players I don't like such as Ramos and get away with it.
  11. Its when rather than if Newcastle will be relegated. It might not happen this season although its a strong possibility, but its going to happen fairly soon. Its just not sustainable to run the club the way it is. You can't get away with cutting corners and appointing managers like Bruce at this level and expect to stay in the Premier League. You could probably just about get away with it during the Pardew era when the league was still full of pfms and badly run clubs like Villa and Sunderland. However, the Premier League has changed, clubs are moving away from short term managers like Allardyce and Pulis in favour of progressive managers with modern ideas and long term thinking. Other clubs are appointing the best directors possible to help their clubs reach higher levels. Other clubs are scouting and buying better quality players. This was an area when Pardew was in charge that Newcastle were good at, but other clubs have pulled ahead of them in this department. The Premier League has outgrown Newcastle under Ashley and once again they will find out the hard way.
  12. Man United, but to be honest there is no club I find more unbearable than Newcastle at the moment.
  13. Mourinho now a pundit on Sky Sports for this season.
  14. The club is s**** while Ashley is owner, but I could probably watch a few matches on the tv even if someone like Van Bronckhorst or Arteta were manager and were given the signings Bruce has been given. It was exciting under Benitez seeing the revolution of the squad with changes in tactics and team shape and we might have saw something like that under Arteta. However under Bruce it will be a mess and it will be like the Pardew days where he hopes individual quality will bail him out when the team is in trouble. I think Bruce is going to do worse than McClaren because he is less suited to the position of head coach than McClaren was. It shows how s**** Bruce is as a manager when he thinks one of the hardest working teams in the league last season need to run more to improve themselves. I actually don't blame McClaren as much for the club being relegated a few years ago compared to other fans. He should have never been given the job in the first place, but there were just too many holes in a very unbalanced squad after years of under investment after the 5th place season that he was always going to fail. Bruce has at least the foundations Benitez built, but he is just not capable of coaching the talented players he has at his disposal now.
  15. I'm surprised Liverpool haven't bought at least 1 world class player this summer or not even tried to get better cover for their star players. Man City have looked to have fixed their two biggest weaknesses in their first team yet Liverpool are just standing still. I can't see Liverpool getting anywhere close to Man City like last season.
  16. Its pointless having a centre midfield under Bruce if the ball is just flying over their heads.
  17. I was reading an article from Louise Taylor after Bruce was sacked by Sunderland in 2011 where he was labelled a dinosaur manager because he was averse to modern technology and tactics. I decided to look at the managers Bruce was competing against for him to have such a damning label attached to him. The managers in the Premier League in 2011 and I have included managers from the previous season - Wenger, Ferguson, McLeish, Kean, Di Matteo, Moyes, Jol, Dalglish, Mancini, Pardew, Lambert, Hughes, O'Neill, Rodgers, Redknapp, Martinez, Warnock, McCarthy, Villas Boas. Houiller, Holloway, Coyle, Hodgson, Hughton and Allardyce. The managers in the Premier League this season - Guardiola, Klopp, Pochettino, Lampard, Emery, Solskjaer, Silva, Rodgers, Nuno Santos, Dyche, Hodgson, Wilder, Smith, Potter, Howe, Farke, Hasenhuttl, Gracia and Pellegrini. Look at the difference in quality of manager between when Bruce was at Sunderland nearly 10 years ago and now at Newcastle. In 2011 it was full of pfms and excluding Wenger and Ferguson barely a handful of those managers are in top jobs at the moment. A few of them are either struggling to get work or have been filtered down to the lower leagues while others probably wouldn't be considered for a job at other Premier League clubs. Lambert when he first arrived on the manager scene was seen as an exciting young manager along with the likes of Coyle yet now they are probably only good enough to manage a decent League 1 team. Then look at todays managers in the Premier League and even midtable teams have managers like Pellegrini that would have been good enough to lead a Premier League team to challenge for the title during Bruce's time at Sunderland. All these managers nowadays or the vast majority of them are all in touch with the modern game in terms of tactics and taking into consideration the importance of science and data for preparing their teams for the season with Bruce being the exception. The point I'm making is Bruce is going to be so out of his depth at Premier League level next season. He might just about get by if Benitez's methods don't wear off too quickly, but I just can't see him lasting a full season similar to McClaren. He has no business managing a Premier League club especially when you look how he struggled to get Villa out of the Championship despite all the money and quality he had at his disposal. It wouldn't surprise me even with more spent Bruce will struggle to get half the points Benitez managed to get the last 2 seasons.
  18. They are so similar. https://twitter.com/MozzaNUFC/status/1155395996739878913
  19. I'm not sure if this is the right place for this, but someone should consider rebranding this place into just a general football fan website because I'm not sure anyone here is a Newcastle fan anymore.
  20. The Dutch and Belgian clubs are considering forming one league together.
  21. Tribesman

    Lee Charnley

and he works on his own so he has nobody to help, poor fucka will probably have a heart attack like JK Be interesting to see how many other clubs out of the professional 92 only have 1 senior executive and no board members and how many have that senior executive who was an ex ticket office clerk or secretary I looked at other clubs in the Premier League to see what type of people they have running the club. Compared to Newcastle the likes of Everton and Leicester have an army of people behind the scenes running the club. They have many directors, executives and heads of departments in control of things from finance to communication. Is it any wonder Newcastle are so slow to do anything when they only have Charnley in charge who can't even do anything unless Ashley approves it.
  22. Hes getting torn apart on Twitter. https://twitter.com/PeteGravesSky/status/1150305343882371073
  23. Apparently Sheffield Wednesday are waiting to see proof of funds from Ashley. Stolen from Twitter by the way.
  24. I think its certain the club will be relegated this season. Even if Ashley gives Bruce £100 million to spend on the likes of Joelinton it won't make a difference to improving the team. Signing players just on their resale value rather than what they offer to the teams never works as we have seen with McClaren. Bruce is much less suited than McClaren to this transfer policy so its going to be a disaster. Bruce is just not good enough to be managing at Premier League level. He's not even good enough anymore for teams looking to get promoted from the Championship. If Benitez felt it was a struggle to keep Newcastle in the Premier League then Bruce will fail miserably. The club have lost their top goal scorers in Rondon and Perez. Newcastle have been among the lowest scorers in the league and have now lost Benitez's ability to make a weak very organised and hard to beat. Expect to see Newcastle lose 5-0 or more often next season. Its going to be glorious seeing how bad the club does next season.
