Not sure I agree with this. Personally I wouldn’t get rid of Bruce until we know one way or the other. Pointless bringing in someone like Mark Hughes or Pulis on a three year deal and then getting rid of them for someone like Rafa or Allegri a couple of months later. Maybe if we can get someone in on a six month deal but then we’d still only be looking at managers of the Calibre of the aforementioned Pulis and Hughes.

I know he’s young and obviously even younger then but he’s not improving. He’s the same height as Carroll isn’t he? Yet you could argue Gayle is better at being a target man and holding up the ball. He doesn’t have the aggression or knowledge on how to position his body in order to effectively keep the ball up his end of the pitch. Fair enough, he’s not a target man or even a striker, I would expect either a cam or wide player to score/assist more than he does and also being able to drive us up the pitch. There was a moment we had the ball on the break, normally a good player in this situation would at the very least be able to worry the defence, instead he passed the ball out to Carroll who had very little to aim at.

Been waiting for him to come on for a couple of months now, after hearing how highly rated he is. We’ve refused to send him out on loan to championship clubs at 18 that’s already a promising sign. There’s a real chance there’s an NUFC academy product to be proud of.

It’s really pissed me off tbh and I haven’t been this annoyed since Rafa left. It’s like they’re not content with having scouts everywhere else, and having every other advantage they want to take our only real chance of producing our own talent. But then our club and our academy has been a shambles for so long I can’t really blame them. If the takeover happens I hope they address this and even start setting up satellite clubs near Chelsea to see how they like it.
