Anyone know if he's in contention for the Scottish Cup game against Hibs in a few hours? The game doesn't seem to be airing anywhere other than streaming through viaplay though, unfortunately.

Yeah, I was given that one as a xmas present at the time... Didn't care much for it at all and it ended up in back of the wardrobe for years. Coincidentally stumbled across it while looking for something else recently and it definitely has a lot more appeal now.

42 here and right with you... I can't believe the Ashley era may finally be at an end. I'm on the verge of tears... that man almost, almost, beat my passion for this club outta me and I'll never forgive him for that. I can't believe how quickly the excitement enthusiasm has come rushing back into my veins with news of this takeover. As many others have already said - Prior to Ashley, I didn't expect us to win but I always thought we could (no matter who we were playing). All I want from our new owners is a commitment to trying... a commitment to improving... so that I can dream once again. Toon Toon, Black & White Army !!!!

That's not how any of that worked/works. It kind of is though in effect. He's cut off the clubs income streams and diverted them for Sports Direct's and/or his own personal benefit. Hence the club wouldn't have needed these 'loans' if Sports Direct had been paying for advertising (plus other things) rather than depriving the club of millions every year. Exactly... and I wouldn't be surprised if he's openly stating his preferred price for the club (350M), then when a bidder like Staveley or Kenyon comes along it's a case of "Oh great, now there's just the small matter of these outstanding loans that also need to be taken care of". Not to mention the long term kit & advertising deals he has already signed the club up for with SD, which simply couldn't be broken just because a new owner has come in.

Which is why he's never sold to previous bidders.

Does anyone know what happens with all of Ashley's personal "loans" he provided to the club (i.e. things that would typically be paid for with club profits but were instead funded by him loaning us back the money we'd made him)?? I wouldn't be surprised if the c*nt tried to add full repayment of those on top of the 350M 'club price'. I assume he is/was also trying to force BZG into some kind of lasting advertising & exclusive merchandise arrangement too, before agreeing to final terms. I remember listening to some Rangers supporters on the TrueFaith podcast a while back and it was scary to hear details of the tangled web of dodgy deals he'd weaved into their financial arrangements... Can't begin to imagine what he might have done to us after all these years.

I've always felt that him being a willing seller was utter BS though (stated purely to ease tensions with the fans)... even if he scooped 350M from the sale, that's nothing compared to the meagre funds he outlays on the club vs all the TV money, free SD advertising, player sales etc. over the long-term. We've never been anything more than a SD advertising vehicle and a steady stream of proven income in his eyes. I'm definitely not banking on anything until it's official like.

F***n hell man... I'm trying not to get excited, but it's becoming difficult to ignore. If this goes through, I'm worried alcohol poisoning will do me in and I'll miss the impending glory days.
