The modern standard is dire mind. Wish they were a bit more dull and less hyperbolic, blowing with the wind and no better than listening to any radge you're sitting next to at any given match. Dull as he is/was and as awkward and dull as he was on Match of the Day in the 90s, even Lineker when I hear him now, was good as a co-comms unless its by today's standards.

We had people criticising him as a superfluous signing not that long back. His contribution of goals, assists, participation in goals and chances for the time he's played is fabulous.

Cant wait for the future, should these rules remain, when the clubs with the most money will by definition buy the league and nobody can compete but we'll call it 'winning the league' instead because its the usual suspects.

I do think people forget what things were like before but its no less competitive now than it was then its just the same team prevails but before that we weren't even getting title races most of the time. It was Man United or Chelsea, before than Man United or Arsenal, before that Liverpool. We were third in 2003 and knew we had no chance to go any higher. That's not being said of Arsenal or Liverpool now.

Aye its almost been like the people running football want an independent regulator and are sabotaging things to that end. Frightening to imagine the absolute shambles they've made of things is an effort to stave that off.

Just fully expect nothing to happen and preferential treatment, even redrafting of rules to allow for it at this point. Football has normalised and legalised corruption in plain sight that would have looked an absolute elite insulating stich up even a decade ago and its now greeted like a virtue in many quarters. That's it good to have the same teams at the top indefinitely all of a sudden. Having ambition and the funds to pay for it when it comes from outside the elite is now seen being seen and absorbed as 'cheating' and something akin to a regimen of doping or multiple charges of match fixing.

Lot of these problems could be easily solved, its just that in every change of rules the advantaged clubs have to be further advantaged that makes it complicated so you get a ladder of who can spend what based on achievements made before these rules came in but after other clubs (ourselves, Everton, Villa, Leeds, Blackburn, Forest) had been displaced at the top by them, rather than a blanket spend limit.

Organic growth that any club has experienced has come through sustained success which is no longer permitted for outsiders because it requires expenditure to achieve sustained success.

Good to know football clubs have finally cottoned on and stopped hiring him though. Doesn't get mentioned for any jobs now when it wasn't 3years ago that he was the man to take us forwad, shouldn't have been sacked and we were wrong to want rid.

The only reason Isak has gone down is the foul, doesn't take a lot to knock anybody off balance when they're on one leg mid-strike and Isak's not diving mid-strike.

New players, old players he's produced an unreasonable amount of poor performances over the last 2years for it to be unrelated to himself. Results you cant really control, but performances over 2years are yours.

We didn't get worse in isolation, but probably did compared to competitors. Though I get the long-termism of a Guehi its not an area I'd have been focusing on to the extent they did as far as this season goes but again understand the false economy in these soullessly regulated times of not spending money on positions were well stocked in even if we cant shift some of the stock we'd like to. Unmoved whether it happens or not. Improves us which used to be all that mattered and in normal circumstances would be fine but the psr budget in future windows for 'purples' loom over things. Some of the fees reported seem reasonable though
