  1. That's it. If this deal had been agreed on the final day of a season we'd already be into the next season and still in limbo, a whole summer stuck. That can't be right - or if agreed during the season we'd have been in stasis for a third of the season. Its too disabiliting for too long a period of time to be for real, except for the extra special circumstances were currently in.
  2. Has anything taken this long and actually, in the end, happened?

    Sunderland

They mentioned in the commentary of the 4-1 how we’d made it 5-in-a-row. Didn’t even register at the time and can’t remember us using it as something to crow about. It’s literally all they’ve got. 9 unbeaten including 6 wins - yet I don't know a single fan that was keeping count. From the people that brought us "we always win 2-1" - when they'd lost as many 2-1 as won. (last two games at Roker e.g.) Yet no such chant was forthcoming from our end. One loss on Wearside in over 30years - yet nothing was made of it. The only fans I've known keep count were Hibs going 21 unbeaten against Hearts. That's the level of rinky-dinkness were talking about here.
  4. Either Elton Welsby or the super computer that beat Gary Kasparov at chess is my guess.
  5. How's St Pauli doing? Their famed houses of ill-repute will be hit hard during this current crisis. Part of applauding on Thursday nights is with them in mind and the irony of how its usually them giving the clap.
  6. That time we had the simplest "takeover" accept from the richest consortium ever put together or a from easily rejectable dubiously sourced party - drag on for at least five months and still nobody being any the wiser about whether it will happen and almost everybody was bored to lobotomy levels by it all.
  7. Well, maybe so, but that's not the point is it. It's A point appropriate to this thread which isn't specifically about how unpleasant Saudi Arabia is to us as a culture. Which isn't new.
  8. If he's an absolute ruler, and he is, then next stop Sheffield United I trust?! and if not, why not?!
  9. ready the gifs, even window licker can’t spoil this party. I don't want to tempt fate and ask why I can't post them

    Euro 96

Tickets were very expensive at the time! Tickets were expensive, there were very few Bulgaria/Romania fans over here, lots of tickets were bought (and not used, the attendance was actually the numbers through the turnstiles, not tickets sold as per now) by French and Spanish fans as there was a loyalty scheme for the next stage. Remember showing my makem mate round the newish Gallowgate end and he was open mouthed at the change in the place, the last time he'd been in there was an 80's Simod Cup game against Derby, with an attendance of about 7000. £45 in the East Stand. 4.30 kick offs on weekdays for France v Bulgaria and Bulgaria v Romania. Daft. No Ginola, no Cantona. But Stoichkov, Hagi and this Zidane fella from Bordeaux Cantona had raved about earlier that season. Also Bulgaria and Romania were two of the teams of the previous world cup - was very excited at Xmas but it was damp squib in actuality.

England were fantastic against Holland and good against Germany but were poor in every other game, wonder if it challenges the established narrative. Most games were not good. Denmark - Portugal, Denmark - Croatia, England - Holland, England - Germany, Italy - Germany (for quality) - the rest were average or awful. Every game at SJP was dull.
  12. When I first seen this, the reaction was that the amnesty internatinal representative, for example, being filled in on the benefits of such a takeover. I now feel it will probably predictably be the exact opposite and no compromise from that end of things. *Would also far rather wait until/if it happens. Really couldn't get into it knowing its all conjecture at this point. I haven't even been able to force project how I'd feel about it. I/we will know if/when.
  13. If you can call it a 'team' as I think the correct terminology is a "cluster-f**k of Colbacks" or something
  14. Just when you start to come back around to him you remember why you thought he was such a d*ck in the first place. Recently saw him on a chat and was good, quite often speaks well and I got to thinking "its just a personality thing, he's very attention seeking and I'm introverted but more power him" - then I see this, dear me.
  15. Billy Hayes reaction after beating the heck out of Rifki on Midnight Express is the reaction for me. certainly is positive - didn't realise this period was the post-coronavirus period
  16. I'm in. (if I can fluke my way to it again)
  17. Such as sports ministers following us on twitter. This is the thing for me like, there's so much ancillary evidence to suggest it's well on its way but the instant some fucknugget on twitter posts a bit of speculative thick-as-whale-spunk s**** everybody's in the pit of despair again Ashley's turned us into paranoid distrusting wrecks. If this goes through it will be the one time in the last 13years that it was paranoia and not logical doubt.
  18. Throwing my hat in the ring for this weeks. Realised at 8.20 had forgot it last Sunday and left it. How you forget something with an intenary that reads - Thursday: 8pm: clap for the key workers - rest of week: shop once or twice and that's it is lamentable.
  19. Actually got to the point where I just want things to get back to normal where football can be played and attended. Gone right off the boil with the takeover because of it.
  20. Yet I couldn't care less about Everton, never have done or known anybody that did.
  21. Stifleaay though, "out of touch" is the point. Martin Samuel is the "journalist" least out of touch. Its not just that one interview, he''d been an obvious apologist and probably shill long before that for Ashley. His stance on Ashley completely contradicted his views on West Ham's owners, I believe he's a West Ham fan!?, who have been far less abysmal than Ashley. Pretty sure he's at least tacitly part of the Ashley, Wise etc clan. That's the problem.
  22. I've believed every other one bar Staveley #1 for about a week was a scam worst case scenario is being rid of Ashley have been right 95% of the time on these things. I'll believe it when its confirmed and only then. By scam I mean Ashley not really wanting to sell and these events being of benefit to him somehow, a smokescreen for recent events in this case.
  23. So what about legal documents signed by BOTH parties and submitted to companies house. You can’t bullshit that. If anybody can he can. If anyone would pull out of this somehow and knowing every loophole known to man to exploit, it'd be him. Hope it is legally binding and maybe just a final sick twist on is way out. I didn't think they'd set up monochrome aquisitions a year ago just for a scam but they did. Each one has been more elaborate than the last via the law of diminishing returns. I might have said on here that the next one would only need the i's dotted and the t's crossed and the one after that just the i's dotted. Hope its wrong but
  24. He is the mouth-piece of the regime. And proud of it which is pathetic for a so-called journalist especially a sports-one and as a man. So this will be right. He will know. He will have been told. Too much smoke. Season ticket time, bad publicity the other week - all forgotten. Just as all the media will forget being hoodwinked by the same odious c**t that tried to rake cash in whilst risking everyone's lives. The only thing that was different was his losing money during lockdown and football being postponed. Reality check for those that have their concerns about the takeover/fakeover. Its something like that, or this for the rest of at least Ashley's life.
