It’s security against a vendor loan.

There is currently no outstanding loan balance between the two parties as far as I’m aware. The vendor loan would only come into force if the sale has completed, it hasn’t. Is the £150m figure even mentioned anywhere (again, cba reading through the doc) or is that pure speculation?

    This a setback?

    He definitely said it

This is the problem with this thread tho. The same source had said something positive and something negative within 10 mins of each other and only the positive is posted which gives a false impression.

Fair enough if that’s what people wants

I always feel with Kennedy that whilst he's clearly positive in his reporting of the takeover, he always creates himself a small cautious angle somewhere that he'll be able to go back to should he need to in the future.

They've made it categorically clear that they are not a protest group, so those joining shouldn't expect them to be.

Categorically untrue around the time Rafa left. And they are supposed to be what their members want them to be - that's the whole point. One member, one vote.

Still, mind, they'll be looking at that show and thinking they've got a chance

If you ignore both their results all season and also their recent form.

Why do the Trust need to organise things?

If they actually ask their members and that's what they want, that's what they should do. If there's not the interest in it they shouldn't. Saying "that's not what we're about" without asking the members doesn't really wash I'm afraid.

Completely agree with the hypocrisy of the media with us.  Although, have we shown enough that we really want Mike Ashley gone to get the media to properly notice?  I don't think so.

Maybe something for NUST to do. But probably a discussion for their own thread really.

It seems the lead story in a lot of places is the unfortunate incident that led to a police officer having his face slashed.

It’s a shame that happened because along with the Tory Government, a large section of the media love nothing more than demonising football fans just like any other protest that will be more forceful than the boundaries they set.

Wouldn’t be surprised if the bill that blocks protests is amended in an attempt to push it through in parliament on the back of this.

Yeah -  it's bandwagon jumping, but it's also about raising awareness of what's going on at NUFC. Most other supporters know we don't like Ashley, but do they really know why/the ins/outs? We've been laughed at for the last 14 years - now the tide is turning and it's time to take advantage of the media focus. Perhaps get supporters from other clubs involved too.

I found Jenas' comments interesting (first time for everything) when he was saying he's not a Man United fan so as he's watching from the outside it's not fair for him to pass judgement on what's happened to their club and what they feel they, as fans, need to do about it. That's exactly the sort of attitude that isn't afforded to our fanbase by the media.

I mean they literally built most of their membership on the back of false promises regarding protests when Rafa left.

They can’t protest though, that’ll affect Alex’s chances of getting to sit in a posh box at a match.

Why worry about the current state of affairs? What has happened in the last couple of years to get upset about?

It’s much better to build a friendship with some chap in the fan engagement team who has no authority to do anything. Also great to buy 1% of the club in 6 years to do absolutely nothing with. Pissing in the wind that project, when we’ve been screaming for action for years.

That first paragraph is what sums them up for me. They chased members pretending to be a protest group against the background of rafa leaving, but once they've got them they've no real intention of rocking the boat with the club.

They did a huge membership survey while back and rather than act on the results of it, the response was "well we've sent it to the club". They simply won't ask the question of their members about any form of serious protest, because they don't want the answer that they'll get.

They also used the premier league "meeting" as a membership chase then pretty much shut up shop on the discussion once they'd had it.

If anything i think the stuff we saw yesterday (whilst some of it was clearly too much) showed exactly how far behind the Trust are with this sort of thing.

Gonna bump this after what happened today i'm sick to death of "our" lot doing jack shit.Any fan who attends the fulham game is a spineless C***

Old Trafford / anfield would've been a complete sell out today at either ground today though if fans were allowed in.

    Care to say why?

Yeah i just dont think you can have games being called off, when really the club have a duty to keep those fans outside.

I get the point about it being better to punish the owners but I'm not sure what you're punishing them for under the rules? Other than being bad for football obviously.

  12. Strange situation. Fair play to the Man United fans, but also think the club absolutely have to be punished for it with points taken off and the forfeit of the game. Even though forfeiting the game assists liverpool as well.

Yeah if they win their next 2 and we lose our next 2, I’d have zero confidence that we’d step up when needed. We’re fine though now I reckon.

I reckon if its a dead rubber final day we'll get a hiding.

If they do manage to go up, has this new owner indicated he is wiling to spend some money, their team looks very poor and it will cost a bomb just to stay in the division

Apparently only half a dozen or so of their players aren't out of contract in the summer too.

All about opinions. He wouldn’t improve City though that’s for sure.

Based solely on footballing ability i think he's probably good enough for most of them now, but clubs look at more than that. He's a "wrong sort of headlines" player, and i'm not sure he's a good enough player to justify a high profile club taking a risk.

If I was one of the so called big 6, I would be looking to buy him or Grealish as both are highly instrumental in how their team performs. Both at a perfect age also. If we do get this takeover happening by some chance, they would be the first players I would love the club to look at.

I don't think any of them will take a "chance" on Grealish....
