As much as I think in a different time stuff like a Salary cap could have worked, teams have far too much power to ever agree to it now. ( That's also been the case for 10+ years) The whole draft system stuff should never be attempted There just isn't the infrastructure for anything like that in the same way a lot of what works for Football just doesn't work for US sports.

I might be talking out of my ass here, but i get the impression the reason they were willing to pay that for those guys is because they planned to play them alongside Isak. If you can't do that then they're not willing to pay 60+ for someone to be a back up. But are okay with paying 30-40m for someone to sit on the bench sometimes.

I haven't looked into it, but the difference is fkn huge. I've heard a lot of NBA players talk about no state income tax being a genuine decision to decide who they play for. I doubt that's a thing here to the same degree.

The whole tax rules are vastly different, also if people think footballers are paid a lot they should see Basketball players

IIRC this was a similar reason to why I stopped watching, I was sick of seeing the same shit every year and same teams fighting for the important stuff. Granted this was before all the PSR stuff and I think it was mainly due to be supporting a team owned by Fat Boy but it did spread to watching football in general, I found watching CL/EL just as pointless. I can see this being just as frustrating in a different way.
