It's weird how the brain works like. Why does £50m feel good and £55m feel extortionate?
  2. I know stiffy, I wasn't really being serious. It's more a thought exercise than a plan or anything.

Yeah, I do feel the relief on that, just difficult when you consider the prices we've bought for vs our selling prices.

I want to be positive about this. £55m though. Almost half the Isak money on a 29 year old who's going to AFCON. Not exactly Moneyball is it.
  5. That's true, I just don't understand why it keeps getting asked. To my mind what we've done is more abnormal than if we'd held firm.
  6. Why do people keep asking what we should have done when there are so many examples of how it's done that have been put forward? Genuinely don't get it.
  7. You think that the Eddie Howe you know up until now would do that 3 games into the season and leave us in that position? No chance. Regardless of his own views he'll present a united front. Him still being here means nothing in terms of his own feelings on the matter, never mind whether that would make this a good move in my mind if it did.
  8. Still waiting on examples of this happening tbh. It just seems to be a presumption based on a presumption based on a presumption.
  9. Back off from 6 weeks paternity today, but thankfully my manager is an Evertonian
  10. Examples of that happening? I have plenty of examples where the opposite is true like.
  11. I think we can safely say if this hasn't already been sorted it won't be like, they're a fucking joke.
  12. No doubt in my mind he wanted the "not in the Champions League" excuse to leave in those last few games tbh. I think those highlight his disgusting character more than his quality.
  13. It's been done to death but I'd have expected the club to do what other clubs have done in these situations - hold firm and sell on their own terms when it works for the club. As things stand this might work for the club financially short term, but leaving ourselves short on the field undermines that not just in terms of sporting success but in terms of the very same finances they've prioritised over everything - including the club's reputation.
  14. It's what makes this whole situation all the more insane. If we don't already have a replacement lined up then they've torpedoed our season just as much as Isak has.
  15. I need someone to basically show me that the 130m means we can now spend 390 odd million over the next few windows. If it's 130 million then we've already spent the profit.
  16. Does it really matter? I'm not saying something Mike or 5 or 6 others aren't also saying about the situation.
  17. Honestly at this point I think the only thing to do is stay off football altogether for a bit. He's going to be there for years, getting rammed down our throats on a weekly basis. Nah, fuck that, I'll do something else.
