It's weird how the brain works like. Why does £50m feel good and £55m feel extortionate?
-
Yeah, I do feel the relief on that, just difficult when you consider the prices we've bought for vs our selling prices.
-
I want to be positive about this. £55m though. Almost half the Isak money on a 29 year old who's going to AFCON. Not exactly Moneyball is it.

You think that the Eddie Howe you know up until now would do that 3 games into the season and leave us in that position? No chance. Regardless of his own views he'll present a united front. Him still being here means nothing in terms of his own feelings on the matter, never mind whether that would make this a good move in my mind if it did.

It's been done to death but I'd have expected the club to do what other clubs have done in these situations - hold firm and sell on their own terms when it works for the club. As things stand this might work for the club financially short term, but leaving ourselves short on the field undermines that not just in terms of sporting success but in terms of the very same finances they've prioritised over everything - including the club's reputation.

It's what makes this whole situation all the more insane. If we don't already have a replacement lined up then they've torpedoed our season just as much as Isak has.

I need someone to basically show me that the 130m means we can now spend 390 odd million over the next few windows. If it's 130 million then we've already spent the profit.
