  1. Ashamed of the owners in a football sense now as well so at least there's that
  2. Oh aye, I'm sure our replacement striker search will go well when every club knows we have £130m in our pocket. This is a braindead move in just about every way.
  3. Hope has been saying it's a strong possibility for months. Ornstein's article might say it, but they all say we're compromising on price, which I find unacceptable in the circumstances
  4. What I mean Edwards and Hope aren't going to be reporting on it for the benefit of Liverpool
  5. No one has reported that we're okay with compromising on asking price and on whether we bring in a striker or not until tonight. Now Edwards, Hope, Ornstein are all reporting it.
  6. Point is that it's widely reported now, not just the journos that get it wrong (Edwards)
  7. Truly Ashley-era levels of embarrassment I'm feeling tbh. For different reasons, but still the same feeling at the same level.
  8. Really struggling to think of a more unnecessarily terrible sale that a PL club at this level's made in the market than this.
  9. Newcastle need a striker Wolves: stance and price that matches the situation Brentford: stance and price that matches the situation Liverpool need a striker Newcastle who also need a striker, keep getting quoted stances and prices that match the situation and currently have one of the best strikers in the world with 3 years on his contract : how about we knock £20m off the asking price to you, the club that unsettled that player and stopped us getting our number 1 target? No? £30m off?
  10. Liverpool, Isak and his agent clearly knew who they were dealing with like.
  11. Always thought a big part of the problem with that is more the finishing than the creation tbh, but yeah I take the point.
  12. That's true, but in fairness we had a lot of things to address and it's the only thing that hasn't been addressed. We didn't always get who we wanted but we've got players in at GK, CB, CM, RW that we've known we've needed and also got rid of the deadwood The multiple fumbles and no Wilson replacement overshadow that somewhat but I'd find it easy to look on the bright side. The Isak saga nukes everything if we capitulate though.
  13. We've had a good window at the same time though, it's mental, all I keep thinking about is that expression "but apart from that, how was the play Mrs Lincoln?" and that the play was canny.
  14. It does, but then without it everything is different and we probably don't even have Howe, Isak et al in the first place.
