I think you can. If someone at work is asked to fill two roles to keep things afloat, one of which isn't their job, I don't think many are going to blame the person put in that position.

First time you've mentioned it to me. Alonso is unrealistic. He's supposedly being lined up by Liverpool. Iriola, fair enough if that's your shout. Not sure what he's done to show he's more than a fleeting flavour of the month though.

I understand the point if you're talking about players because the amount there is is endless, but when it comes to managers the list is short enough that anyone should be able to make suggestions. It's not a request for you to be our CEO, it's a basic question that you should be able to answer if you're advocating for a change from what we already have imo. If you can't answer it even to yourself I'd be thinking about what a change will entail and whether it'll be an improvement. So many catastrophes, not just within football, have come off the back of "needing a change" without any consideration for what that change will be.

If it's not your job to suggest a replacement manager, it's not your job to suggest we sack our current manager.

The jury is still out on both, but having a DoF in place arguably means that parts of those deals change. It also means he has more capacity to coach the squad.

It's definitely very possible like, they're so bad.

I'll just have to say it again. Our CEO got cancer and they took over a year to replace him Our DoF walked out on the eve of the transfer window - no contingency plan and no replacement until 6 months later. In the meantime Howe had to step up and take on that role and be our manager. Literally all the support there was in that situation was the money being available.

I can't get my head around this like. How did they back him in the summer? That's not what happened at all and it's becoming mental the way in which what actually happened is ignored even after it's brought up.

Players do tend to look like that when they're knackered and/or bedding in.

In what way have they backed him to the hilt? Getting rid of Staveley and Goudoussi. Taking over a year to replace our CEO who was on sick leave for a lot of it, 6 months to replace our DoF while he was hung out to dry in the summer. They're glacial, it's how they are.

Stuff like this is inconveniently true imo. It's never accepted as a legitimate excuse like, same thing happened in 23/24.

I don't think that's true either tbh. The signings summer '25 are questionable as it stands, but until then his hit rate has been excellent.

Being asked to suggest alternatives for our current manager isn't analgous to having a broken washing machine and not knowing how to fix it.

How so? I read the original post, then you asked who's responsible then? It's PIF who are ultimately to blame.

It's clear now that Howe should have thrown his hands up and said "not my job" when we had no CEO, our DoF walked out , and he was asked to step up. The concept that he digged us out of a hole and had to do his best is a completely alien concept to far too many people. He accepted a hospital pass and got all of the blame for it.

But it is your job to say we should sack him? Can't have it both ways.

He's really rubbish unfortunately. Never confident with him in net.
