  1. That's a strawman, it's nothing to do with 'justification for having an opinion' - it's about putting that opinion into the context it needs, ie who would replace him. This idea that no one can be cited because there are just too many managers who fit the bill to know who they are, or that potentially realistic alternatives are wrongly shot down is a cop out. If we're looking for a manager to improve upon Howe's achievements I think it's fair to say that they'd be relatively well known or it would but a complete punt on an unknown. There aren't that many managers out there who fall into that category who are also realistic. The likes of Alonso get shot down for a reason, not just for the sake of shooting it down. Meanwhile, Howe himself if often linked with the clubs we're aspiring to get to the same level as.
  2. You don't need to reset it, you can just change your answer.
  3. I dunno like, I quite like enjoying things. I'd happily take Solanke.
  4. If you're very confident in your assertion that a manager should be replaced, it massively helps your argument if you can cite even just one manager that you're confident could do better, or has the CV to match or better Howe's. I don't think it's a remotely controversial thing to be asked. It's not like it is with players where the possibilities are endless, the pool of managers that could come in will be very small and I would expect them to be pretty well known if their achievements are anything to hang your hat on.
  5. Just had a quick look on Up The Cherries they're overwhelmingly defending Howe, unsurprisingly.
  6. Pochettino but he'll be wanted by clubs with more pull than us.
  7. Tbh the extent of it is all largely unknown here, particularly in comparison to the level of control other managers have at their clubs.
  8. There aren't enough potential replacements for Howe in the world that you should need an encyclopaedia imo. It's not like it is with players, you're talking like 20 managers, if that.
  9. Okay, so which of them with a profile similar to Howe's have made that jump to another club and achieved what he has? For all you might think you can throw the money argument at him, he's been largely successful with the money spent and we've achieved - again, 4th, 7th, 5th, a trophy, 2 CL campaigns, a final, a semi, 2 quarter finals. There was a return on investment. Also, a reminder that Man City have spent £500m+ this year with the manager most think is the best in the world and they still haven't looked right for nearly 2 years now. And you're doing a huge disservice to what he did at Bournemouth there. It's taken for granted now because Bournemouth are a fairly established Premier League team, but he made them that and it was an insane achievement - the equivilent of coming in as Barrow manager now and turning them into an established PL team.
  10. Of the ones who got the job at a club already in the Champions League or looking to break into it, over 5 years (if they made that far) and tracked with inflation, probably more than you're hoping there is.
  11. And this same mindset doesn't apply to this season? ie not being fooled by one potentially below par seasons vs 4 of overachievement.
  12. How many of those managers you'd never heard of have been successful, trophy winning, Champions League qualifying managers either at the clubs they went to, or at the clubs they moved up to?
  13. Whatever position we're in, you can't ever say it's through his lack of dedication or caring, he looks fucking gutted there.
  14. That to me reads as him saying something out loud that he thought (rightly imo) was already unspokenly understood.
  15. What? Because I don't think there's anything to get in a twist over about her statement? Pretty lazy neesy.
  16. I mean you don't need to go back that far, just go back to last May, or March 2025. Until this season his Newcastle CV has been exemplary. Comparing us to Liverpool seems pointless, we're in completely different worlds as clubs. We're not in a position where we can sack a league winning manager and realistically know we can attract the very best there is. They can.
  17. Providing he's as successful as he's been since he came here I couldn't care less who he's bringing on tbh.
  18. I mean he's not wrong, other clubs are allowed high cost mistakes. I'm still hoping the signings come good, but it's purely based on Howe's record with players coming good.
  19. The state of our success is on him, he's been here 4.5 years because he's been successful. We escaped seemingly certain relegation at a canter, followed it up 4th, 7th, 5th positions, two champions league qualifications, a trophy, a final, a semi final, a couple of quarter finals. I know it's repeated constantly but it has to be, his success escapes people's minds so quickly.
  20. In terms of a club with our profile, realistically you're talking about a punt, already being demonstably better and more successful than Howe is pretty much a guarantee that they're unrealistic. Not to mention that Howe himself is often linked with clubs we're trying to get to the level of.
  21. Very fitting comparison imo. Arsenal fans ended up hounding Wenger Out then entered their banter period.
  22. I doubt she'll have posted that without it being in reaction to something. We all know what social media especially is like.
  23. She wrote the prompt point still stands that none of it is wrong. No one on here believes "no, she's wrong, we should abuse these players, manager, and coaching staff"
  24. Not one single lie spoken though, everyone's just pissed off and the timing is poor.
  25. Then why have DoFs at all? Their jobs are completely different. And it's not just skill differences either, it's about time and resource capacity that someone can have without it negatively impacting on how well they can do either and the liklihood of burnout. Anyway, I don't think we're going to agree.
