The stuff adidas are putting out is absolutely ridiculous. Hit after hit after hit.
-
That's a scenario that didn't exist, they wanted both and got both.

Bold of you to think you'd be on here at all

Some of our fans/people in general need to be put down tbh. Nowt wrong with being a bit thick, but it being paired with 'everyone needs to hear my amazing and intelligent opinions' is fucking unbearable.

I feel like with hindsight the players we missed out on will be because we maybe went in a step too late with some of them. Joao Pedro was ours when he was at Watford and we let him go to (understandably) pivot to Isak. If only we'd got both, but it's a tall order.

Prepare yourself for ~80% possession and trying to get through the lowest and blockiest low block you've ever seen. -
Scored twice and was heavily involved in what would have genuinely been the best Newcastle team goal I've ever seen. But was still quite hit and miss. Still confident that he'll come good, we saw his uses pretty clearly last night.

I doubt anyone is like, but I really wouldn't underestimate how much everything in the middle east is affecting everything at the moment. Think I said this back when Ambramovic was forced to sell Chelsea, but it doesn't take much geopolitical instability to affect things massively at ground level.
-
Selling him at peak value or whatever, fine. Painful but fine, selling him to another Premier League club though? Nah, fuck right off.

Going toe-to-toe is what got us within touching distance with 45 minutes to go. This reverse engineering of the result onto the tactics needs to stop like, it's silly confirmation bias. The tactics to get the outcome we wanted were there in abundance in both legs and we didn't capitalise on it, particularly in the first leg. Barcelona suddenly getting into gear in the last 45 minutes of the tie doesn't automatically bring the approach to both ties into question, not unless there's a clear line from our chosen tactics to individual errors.

In a knockout game of the Champions League, away to Barcelona. You're a 5/10 getting knocked back by Ana de Armas at a party and acting like everyone's laughing at you because you got knocked back, when if anything, anyone laughing will be doing it because they're jealous they didn't get invited, or because you think you're in a position to feel embarrassed.
-
I've seen this Barca, not just any Barca batter far better teams than us, and I'm supposed to be embarrassed that they did it to us in the last half of a two leg tie? Think some people need a dose of perspective and humility tbh, I've touched upon this a lot but with some people we're in overachieving is the expectation territory.
-
Weirdly I think you're both right. Both things happened.
-
That's a double edged sword I think. By virtue of the stakes being lower for the teams who are happy to coast it gives teams like us higher stakes and a better opportunity to progress. 2 extra games isn't the end of the world, I like that you get more of a variety (and therefore opportunities to progress) as well. I think us drawing Barcelona is contributing to a bit of confirmation bias as well maybe.

Romero is fucking shit and a cunt.

He still is like has been for yonks now as well.
