  1. It's nothing to do with our previous results in terms of maths and probability, it's to do with how often it actually happens in reality. It's extremely rare because football is so chaotic and over a long enough timeline it'll churn out 'unlikely' individual results regardless of form, confidence, strength of opposition etc. You don't even need to know the maths, just look at how many times 9 wins on the bounce has actually happened in 32 years.
  2. Or to phrase it another way, 9 wins in a row is obviously now more likely having won 5 already, but these upcoming 4 games are now more likely to include draws and losses based purely on how rare a 9 game winning streak is.
  3. It's not that it's less likely than before we went on this run, it's that these 4 are less likely to win as part of an extended run of 9 wins than they would have been as their own 4 game winning streaks if we'd drawn or lost against Spurs.
  4. FWIW 9 or more consecutive wins in the Premier League has happened 9 times (Man City x2, Man United x2, Liverpool x2, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs) across 32 years and 50 odd clubs. If we do it, it would be a historical achievement for our club. It's very rare.
  5. The history of winning that many games in a row actually happening. The last time we did it was 32 years ago and we brought out a video. We've never done it in the Premier League.
  6. It's obviously tight, but being 5 points off 2nd is fantastic like. Makes Brighton, Everton and West Ham even more frustrating but I'm chuffed we seem to have really turned a corner.
  7. It's not that hard like Rod. He's basically what Beckham would be if no one played 442 anymore and he had to be shoe-horned in at right back instead.
  8. Robertson's used to getting away with being a snide, dirty cunt, that's why.

    Yakubu? Everton, Boro, Portsmouth
  10. He's insufferable like Incredible how bad TAA has been.
  11. Shoulders need to be taken notice of now in the same way elbows are, it's getting daft. That's a red and he knew what he was doing just as VVD did against Gordon.
  12. Neville back in his box. Not that it'll stop him making the talking point of the entire weekend about Man United's green shoots of improvement like.
  13. 100% pen. Couldn't be any more of a handball
  14. TAA rolling back the years with this defensive display.
  15. They have been, yet somehow still win. They were godawful in 22/23.
  16. He won motm didn't he? brilliant until then. ipswich committing suicide here like, very naive.
  17. Wilson should still be getting booked like.
  18. And no reason to complain about it either. I turned it on after 20 minutes, from my perspective Ipswich were on an even keel with Fulham. Now I can see that it was largely against the run of play. Or if I'm a Fulham fan and conceding against the run of play becomes a pattern, it's easier to notice and then talk about it on Fulham-Online. There are tons of uses for it.
  19. Just as with all the other stat based stuff people complain about, it's just not that big a deal. There are loads of ways they're useful for the people who use them.
  20. This place is turning into Boomer-Online like.
