White is a pacey, mobile, creative fullback when he plays at fullback. Ake is a pacey, mobile, creative fullback when he plays at fullback. John Stones is a pacey, mobile, creative fullback when he plays at fullback. There's a reason their managers are able to play them at fullback. Shall I give you a clue? It’s because they are pacey, mobile and creative. Plus, they offer defensive solidity at the same time. It’s about the player playing in the position, not what he’s positionally labelled as on Football Manager.

Read the original post you commented on again, genius. I didn’t even mention that Dan Burn is a CB. The focus of the post was on his size and chronic lack of mobility. Easy mistake to make when you’re a bit simple, and there’s no judgement from me big guy. Might be worth reading things a couple of times in future before you reply though ?

Last season lads, last season. Every club has a team of analysts whose job it is to identify ways to negate team’s strengths and exploit their weaknesses. We’re shipping goals for fun this season because we’ve been worked out to a large degree. Last season we were a bit of an unknown quantity. This season we’re being played through with ease regularly and targeted down Dan Burn’s flank. And it’s working.

Literally every top team and every elite manager uses two pacey, mobile, creative fullbacks. Eddie isn’t better than all of them and doesn’t know something they don’t. There’s a very obvious reason none of them use a 6 foot 7 lumbering giant who moves like a 4 story blocks of flats at full back. Because it’s a shit idea and it isn’t effective!

That scene in Moneyball where the manager keeps playing a player that doesn’t fit into the system they’re trying to build so Brad Pitt sells him, reminds me of us right now. We basically need the board to release Dan Burn on a free so Eddie can get over his damaging obsession, and is forced to pick someone who deserves a first team spot. I think it’s the only way

This is a guy who apparently spends every waking hour studying video footage of our performances and our opponents, so there’s literally no excuse. I could show a few of our performances to someone who has never watched football before and they would spot Dan Burn as our weak link. Whatever he is seeing, I would like him to explain, because at the moment it looks like he’s just ignoring a glaring problem that is costing us points and letting the whole team down.

Disaster performance from a player who simply doesn’t deserve a place in the starting lineup and arguably the first team at all. Every team we play against targets him and it’s often a very effective tactic.
-
Fair play to Luton, they’ve exploited our weaknesses perfectly all game. A point is the least they deserve

People need to not get their knickers in a twist at the criticism he will rightly come in for after this game, even if we win it. Burn has been a problem for most of this season, culminating in a fucking shambles today. Eddie needs to get ruthless and stop picking his favourites. Burn is not good enough for the type is football we want to play
-
That is some finish!
-
And yet, he’ll be the first name on the teamsheet. Fucking terrible management
-
What is Eddie seeing that we’re not ffs?! Burn is an absolute calamity and teams are consistently targeting us down that side with very good effect. He should be at best a bench warmer.
-
Back to his old self - shit decisions at crucial moments.
-
It’s sad to say, but he just isn’t very good.
-
This fucking vulnerability on the counter attack is embarrassing.
-
Burn’s in for a long afternoon!
-
His name fits perfectly with the Rupert The Bear theme tune. Wait until the chorus.
-
They've properly fucked this haven't they?! Only £50m spent all window. Well done UEFA you bunch of balloon popping pricks!
-
Because we're one Gordon injury away from playing Miguel Almiron up front.

If Ekitike is being offered on loan I’m surprised we’ve not chucked our hat in the ring. Maybe we’ve been put off by him being a bit of a flakey twat last time or the fact he hasn’t broken through at PSG, but on paper he fits the bill.
