it cant be for the SD advertising contract unless there is a massive early termination clause. The contact was worth £150k a year (seen it reported) and this season is its last year. It could be £40M to cover sprucing up stadium, more staff, cleaning it, updating the corporate areas, covering the payoffs for Bruce and his merry men, sign on fees for new manager and his merry men etc!

best thing NUFC can do in Jan is get a defensive midfielder or two in, very early in the window

opinions aren't embarrassing. I just think we as a fan base have been absolutely battered for so long that we all hoped the takeover would put an end to it. Its actually increased the battering and the last few days have increased it further, when in fact it was so avoidable.

Day 2 after the FARCE. I've calmed down a bit from yesterday and so if they appoint Howe, he will have my support but I will have my reservations also. If the appointment works in that we dont get relegated then I will hold my hand up and congratulate him. I also hope it then gives the consortium time to get the top level team in place. As if we are in the PL next year, we need to hit the ground running with recruiting earlier, a good pre season plan and then start the assault on a top 10 place!

So this is where the 'trust the process' and the consortium saying they will do analyse and then make a decision. If we are lead to believe that the process came out with Emery and Howe as the two front runners, then the consortium should now go after Howe. If they dont and try for someone else, then they dont trust the process and the last 3 weeks will have been for nothing. The above assume Emery and Howe reports are true of course!

a bit of exaggeration on my part but the point I was trying to make is - we seemed to have jacked off 4 games (inc Brighton) so far and now waiting till Monday will likely mean eating into 1 week or all of the international break before a new manager arrives. So does that now mean we are jacking off 5 games? Just how many games are the new owners willing to write off before they get someone in? We have 3 winnable games after the international break and then rest are 'take what's coming but we all know its a thrashing' games to Jan. We could be on 4 point in Jan and then we really are relegated.

So if Emery had been appointed - he would have been given all the time by the fans as he is a big name and we will have made a step up. Howe, if is appointed basically will have 3 games (the easier ones) and if he doesn't win them, then the fans will turn really quickly as no one really believes in him.

Also with international break coming up will gives us time to find a new manager......its all good. Basically - what this last 24 hours has done, is totally blow away any chance of a fresh start. Whichever manager comes in now - the 1st questions will be about how it feels to be X choice. Also Brighton game is now a dead duck and then we start to eat into International break if a new manager has not been announced. I know people say calm down but this is seriously screwed up. Getting a manager in should be bread and butter, done behind closed doors and announced.
