  1. What yesterday showed is that the football media for the most part hates the fans when they stand up for themselves ( Talksport , Sky , Daily Mail - who referred to rioters etc ) A good way to stand up for yourself as a fan is to boycott those media organisations who actively hate and exploit the fans . Footballs nothing without us but it can live without them
  2. But protest doesnt need all the accoutrements you describe - it doesnt need costumes , banners , people dressed as vicars etc - it just needs people who believe in the justness of their cause .
  3. Eg : If the members voted by a majority for a protest they would ignore them
  4. If people want to protest they should just up and do it - ignore NUST and all the other sub grouplets who come up with pathetic ideas ( walk out , come in late , dont buy a pie )
  5. Missing my point - NUST when it comes to the issue of protest isnt democratic
  6. Why would anyone need costumes etc in order to protest ? Did the Man U fans have much in the way of that ? No , they just got up off their arses and did something .
  7. Democratic ? You mean if most of the members voted for protest they would abide by that and organise one ? Aye , reet ...
  8. From The Guardian And so the overwhelming reaction here is not exhilaration but sadness. As tempting as it was to get swept up in the insurgent thrill, what really unfolded at Old Trafford on Sunday was an act of pure desperation: the last refuge of a group of men and women whose every last avenue had been closed to them. Fan power? Alas, no. It was, in many ways, the ultimate expression of fan powerlessness.
  9. From The Guardian / Johnathan Liew And so they gathered in early afternoon outside Old Trafford, a giant merchandise stall with a football stadium attached, Says it all really
  10. From The Guardian I have to say I was disgusted at Graeme Souness’s ill-informed pro-Glazer stance on Sky,” says Steve in Cork. “He said they improved the stadium. They haven’t. The last improvements were made after the Glazers took over but were planned and approved before that. Since then the stadium has been falling apart. When you see it up close it’s rotten and disgusting. “As for players, the Glazers haven’t put any of their own money in. They haven’t invested anything. The club has bought and sold players based on money it’s earned but when you look at when United have actually spent big money since Ferguson left, it’s only happened when United were outside the Champions League places. The Glazers are happy to sanction some spending to maintain Champions League football and keep the money rolling in but that’s it. It’s all about the illusion of success for the Glazers. They’re happy to do the bare minimum while they bleed the club dry.”
  11. At the end of this season when we finish 4th bottom - there will be a demo outside St James - hundreds of happy fans will celebrate survival as if it was entry to the Champions League . Theres the difference - low horizons
  12. Be funny if this prompted the Glazers to sell to the Saudis ?

  14. Keith when asked why he didnt give the story to someone like Henry Winter was all " i dont know him dont trust him " so instead he goes to Liam matey with wraith Kennedy ? Of the Shields Gazzette ? Really ? Then he wonders why people dont take him seriously

  16. Boris Johnson has very strong words on the ESL Apparently he told Richard Masters, the chief exec of the Premier League, that he is committed to the free market but that the ESL is “anti-competitive”, saying “we should drop a legislative bomb to stop it – and we should do it now.”
  17. If Boris Johnson is so minded,” says Geof Walker, “he only needs to bring forward a short bill banning any football in England other than matches organised by the FA. Such laws are already in place in France and Germany. That would oblige the owners to expatriate their franchises.

  19. Because its not about the clubs its about the owners ... The Glazers have already taken approx £1 billion ( so im told ) out of Man U Plc . Thats all its about £££££££££
