They've moved on from months of claiming Bruno is shite to claiming he might go to Real Madrid. Had to chuckle at this description of him though

"He’s overrated from the little bits I’ve seen of him.Another Jermaine Jenas with his flicks and 10 yard passes"

Reminds me of when Rafa was the worst manager in the world, but it was the best thing for them when he left us.

And PIF were only looking to flip a buck, but then they were the greatest owners in world football when the deal was off, now they’re back to being cheap shite owners again.

The only thing I can think of is agents trying to manipulate circumstances re: his availability so as to get a bigger contract.

There was absolutely no way he'd ever be sold for £40 million.

He is available, Leicester have never said he isn’t. We just weren’t willing to pay the asking price.

I’ve only seen a few clips but from what I’ve seen Arteta comes across way better than I thought he would. I find him boring as fuck normally but he’s clearly really passionate in the clips

I love him, he’s doing really well too.

It's beyond sad that they feel they have to sign up pretending to be a fan of another club and then go on to praise themselves to make themselves feel better. I mean its just proper weird as fuck.

I honestly don’t know how none of them have worked it out  That’s the best part of it for me, they all lap it up without giving it a seconds thought.

Pure speculation on my behalf, yet there he is at PSG, with them having paid less than the price NUFC agreed.

You don't half talk some shite mind.

Him signing for PSG seven months after we failed to sign him isn’t clear evidence that they had a word in January and told him to “hang on”

Otherwise why wouldn’t they have just agreed a price in January, or, immediately as soon as the summer window opened?

What are you basing this on other than your imagination?

If we had a few seasons in the champions league we'd start struggling to sell out the same way citeh do unless they Included them in a season ticket cost

It’s always been a pet hate of mine that cup games aren’t included as standard in a season ticket.

Problem is, if clubs did do this they’d just raise ST prices to mitigate it

The cost of a ST, all away games and cup games if you were Liverpool/Man City fans who tend to go all the way in most competitions must be ginormous.

    Bruno?

As he only signed seven months ago, you’d have thought the club would’ve been clear to him then about our ambitions and he was happy enough to sign up to that.

Unless they’re desperately failing with those ambitions, I see no reason why he should be unhappy.

    Got to consider the following:

    - Howe's methods are now embedded, not new.

    - They've had a full Howe led pre-season.

    - They were still in Bruce mode for the beginning of the second half of last season and did incredibly well.

    - We've added Botman, Pope and Targett is now fully integrated.

    - Wilson might stay fit for longer than last year

    - Bruno is acclimatised.

    - They will very likely add players.

Even if all we succeed in doing this season is a solid mid-table finish and a decent run in the cups, who gives a fuck? Ashley has gone and it's a marathon, not a sprint.

I’d say that’s the minimum expectation here and the points you’ve set out are exactly the reasons why we’ll achieve it, if not more.

We were saying it was a midtable squad when Bruce was here and he was failing by having us circling the bowl. We’ve added some real quality since then.

Reims released a statement saying that the player himself had decided to stay as he 'didn't want to skip the stages', nothing to do with not reaching an agreement on price.

More than likely, PSG told his agent to hang on until the summer, which is exactly what happened.

You’re missing the point, the point is (as reported by most journalists covering it in January) it took us so long to agree a price that we left a young player in an impossible position on deadline day to make such a big decision. Hence the reasoning given in the statement.

You said my post was pure speculation and then you come up with that nonsense about PSG at the end.

That's a hell of a leap, but if that's your interpretation fair enough.

It was widely reported as that, it’s not my interpretation at all.

I thought the price for Ekitike was. There seems to be an Premier league price than  Newcastle price on top.

Well we clearly didn’t think it was astronomical because we went back in this summer and offered it again. That makes no sense from your part.

  11. Just now, UncleBingo said:

    Pure speculation on your part.

The kid was always hanging on for PSG, once he got wind of their interest.

It was widely reported as that by most journalists covering the deal.

  12. Just now, The Prophet said:

We agreed a fee for Ekitike. Maddison, I'd agree with but that breif saga was just bizarre.

I’ve answered that in the post above yours.

    Just now, madras said:

And if we'd rolled over then we could have paid 40mill for Botman and all the other prices we get quoted would go up, Watford could be wanting 35mill for Pedro.

I’m not saying we should roll over and pay prices that are astronomical.

  13. Just now, madras said:

I thought we offered more for Ekitike than PSG did ?

In January we spent the whole window squabbling over a few million in add-ons which left Ekitike with a decision to make on deadline day that he didn’t want to have to make so quickly.

If we had just paid it a week or two earlier, we more than likely would've signed him seven months ago.

Imagine if we had a qualifying game for a European competition. Empty seats everywhere at West Ham.

We had thousands of empty seats during the group stages of the Europa League last time we were in it.

  15. 2 minutes ago, The Prophet said:

It's via this exact method we got Bruno for £39 million and Botman for £32 million. It's frustrating, particularly when it's played out in public, but not only do we want to be seen as tough negotiators, we want to be tough negotiators.

It’s also the reason we failed to land top targets like Maddison and Ekitike.

  16. 1 minute ago, HaydnNUFC said:

It's been rejected? Shock. Can't wait to hear about internal discussions on moving onto different targets and the same happens again.

You’re so negative these days, I love it.

Ban @Fantail Breezehe/she started the whole fucking thing!

    Outrageous slander.

On the plus side, if we sell Bruno for £800m we might be able to go up to £31m for Maddison.
