Do wonder what some fans are experiencing sometimes. Was walking down St James' Boulevard and there were Forest fans behind us. They never heard a peep until we scored apparently. which is total bollocks but best of all they deserved something from the game

I'm still giggling at how laughably bad Colback was.

To be fair, every single away end says the exact same thing about home fans up and down the country each week. Home fans also think they were louder. Tends to be a case the seat you’re in will dominate the noise from what’s immediately around you rather than across the other side of the pitch.

I thought the atmosphere started well, tailed off as nerves crept in and immediately came to life when we scored. Again, pretty much what happens at every single stadium.

I find the whole “we sung more songs than you” pretty 17-18 years old. Unless SJP was sat in complete silence for 90 minutes, it’s not a total surprise the atmosphere will go in peaks and troughs.

Really happy with how he played today.  Felt like he was playing as part of the team.

Should've played the simple pass to Wilson for 1-0 though!

Yup. Really pleasing to see that the coaching staff have clearly worked with him on his obvious flaws, but even more pleasing that he seems to have listened.

And rightly so I would say. He'll have sterner tests than Forrest this season but I do have more confidence in him than Dubs, especially when claiming crosses and at corners.

Really? He dropped a clanger part way through the second half.

He had absolutely nothing to do, but thought he looked great at the quick throws and poor with his feet. Seemed fairly comparable to Dubravka imo, but time will tell who is the better keeper.

Unsurprising really having come from Burnley under Dyche where 90% of the game is played in the air.

Think at the time most of us were disappointed with the deal. However, it was somewhat understandable due to having no striker available, and also recognising that the club was looking to add a Premier league experienced striker because of the fact that we were in a relegation scrap and needed someone to slot in right away and be up to speed with the league.

We could have easily got a far more interesting player from abroad for that amount in January IMO, but the circumstances weren't ideal for that. Things are completely different this summer though, as we don't necessarily need someone that is fully adapted to the Premier League straight away.

I don’t entirely disagree but my argument is that we do need someone fully adapted to the PL if we want to be as ambitious as possible.

Maddison, imo, would lift us from fighting for top half to European contention.

I suppose it depends on whether that is a priority for the owners or if they’re happy with a consolidation season. Being a supporter, obviously I want to strive for the best.

A conversation I was having with myself? You quoted me? And started talking about a completely different subject.

And I will say this, just for you, Bruno was BETTER VALUE.

You still haven't apologised for the other day, you know when everyone made you look a dick for taking a cheap shot at me and LV? You disappeared for a couple of hours because the forum backed us and not you. [emoji38]

 I disappeared for a few hours because I have a life. Why on Earth would I apologise for suggesting you’re a tit when you continue to act like one?

The rest of your post adds nothing to the conversation, Bruno was good value - but we’ll see how he develops to see if that remains the case. Wood was terrible value, we’ve had some wins and some losses there.

Doesn’t take away from the fact that Maddison would be cracking value at the cost it’s expected to take.

I was talking about where you could find value in the market and you started blathering on about Maddison playing for 4 years in the PL.

My point is that Bruno is a better player than Maddison or at least comparable (if you ignore they play in different positions), therefore we did find value in the market and can in the future markets.

We don't NEED to spend 60m to sign quality players and quite frankly I couldn't give a fuck if they are playing on the moon of they are good enough.

So the post made perfect sense apart from the different conversation you were having with yourself?

Strong opinion to suggest Bruno is better than Maddison based on his incredibly small sample size. Mo Diame looked like a £50m player for six months once too. Not saying Bruno will flop but trying to suggest he is better than Maddison is ludicrous.

It’s funny how suddenly we can find this great value in the market but the total opposite was the case when people were suggesting Wood at £25m was absolutely essential because there was no value to be had.

I’ve said it many times but will repeat it again once just for you, £50m-£60m for Maddison is good value.

My subtle point is that I wouldn't sell Bruno for 100m but we signed him for less than 40m in January.

So if we signed Bruno for less than 40m just a few months ago, why would we now pay 60m for someone of comparable talent?

Bruno has been fantastic for six months, Maddison has been consistently fantastic for four years at this level/in this league.

It’s not difficult to see why one would currently cost more than the other.

The amount of goal contributions he could add to us would be massive and less of a risk than say a Diaby or a ST that ends up sat on the bench behind Wilson.

Not a priority but to much of an improvement to pass up imo.

Still say that even at £50m you’ll not get better value in any position for proven PL quality and the potential to grow.

Maybe Tielemens but he doesn’t seem to fancy it.
