I agree with you, it was a tongue in cheek comment to be fair. I was at that game viewing it from that angle too. Heartbreaking wasn't it as we wanted a nice clean win to end the season.

IMO McGinn is the archetypal top half prem footballer but will never, ever be a top player. He's decent enough but there's no genuine top quality there, and there never will be. He's a Mark Noble type of player. He was just good enough to hang around but have you ever seen him on a team sheet and thought, "Oh, he's a threat, he'll boss the midfield, he'll keep us at bay" No for me, but maybe I'm wrong.

I agree. That being said I'll be happy about it. More signings please barkeep. I can't be the only one that enjoys signings regardless.

I agree. Phillips isn't some amazing talent, he's an above average CDM. Plenty of those around for 1/3 of his price.

Cornet at 17.5 mil isn't a bad signing, he's 25 and looks like he is yet to peak judging from his career stats. 8 goals in 26 games for Burnley this season. Personally I think we need to be looking above players like him now. Darwin Nunez should be the level we are attempting to sign, 22 years old, 34 goals in 41 games this season. Weaker league but that's a big gap. Also shows he isn't injury prone and can do it consistently over a whole season and he's only going to get better.

Controversial opinon but... we should be grateful we are even the Premier League. It's not Eddie's fault, he's worked a miracle, the players are crap. I'm excited and looking forward to the summer transfer window. Hopefully the higher ups recognise we don't need a makeover. I'd be happy with a complete refresh, 8 new players please barkeep, the fact we've not got relegated with these clowns is a godsend.

That Spurs game felt weird, that first half they honestly felt like prime 2010 Barcelona. It just felt odd, they absolutely dominated us and I've not seen that before or since.
