What I mean is there’s no pressure in those scenarios. The same was said about villa this season but since they’ve beat us and they have had expectations their form has fallen off a cliff (typically).

Doing it over the season and getting it over the line rather than having it with fictitious tables drawn up to prove a point are completely different. Even so it’s still a huge achievement, everybody always said we wanted a team that tried and now we have one so me for one are already applauding us getting into Europe and will applaud if it keeps getting better but I won’t be disappointed now.

And for what it’s worth - me as well.

I know and as I said this morning - my opinion is great season and we’ve established Europe so anything else is just the “creme de la monfe” on top.

They’ve come here and been only the second ten to beat us this season and kept us to a clean sheet. You have to give them some credit, fact is - they’re at where we want to be next season.

Exactly - we’ve been beat 2-0 and hit the post twice as well as missing as sitter. I’ve been purposely not posting the last few week when people have been saying things like “we’ll smash them” - that was always crazy talk.

Lost our heads in the cup final as well - it seems mental strength isn’t there yet.

Exactly the opposite for me - it’s been a great season and we’ve already made Europe so I’m really pleased and anything extra we earn is a bonus and the cream on the top. It’s all good from where I’m sat.

I never wanted us to sell either but you can’t say he would have been just as good if he stayed unfortunately as there’s just too many variables involved (training environment, number of chances and games, how he would have took to the likes of Steve Bruce etc).

I’ve now entered a zen “whatever happens will happen” kind of mood. Probably helped along with me currently under serious stress at work and working over 60 hours a week.
