Liverpool do need a ST though. So this can't all be nonsense to try and get Isak rattling cages. They've got to be interested in actually signing Ekitike rather than just getting in our way. There's only one other striker out there worth getting for them and that's Sesko.

Come on man, his dream move isn't Liverpool. He'll go to whichever club is in the Champions League, pays him the most and ends up paying us the most. It doesn't matter who it is.

Liverpool fans would be the first to be begging for Isak/Ekitike to come if they signed the other. Just as they were moaning at us for doing yesterday.

That's obviously a no brainer BUT him going to Liverpool has a direct impact on us in more ways than one. If Premier League club wants him we need to add an extra 15% on any fee we think Isak is worth IMHO, just for the fact we're strengthening a rival.

This is a big moment for the club. Could be a genuine turning point between us actually becoming something else this season and moving onto the next level or staying a 4th-7th placed club for the next 3/4 years. Guess we'll see which.

So either Liverpool aren't interested in Ekitike and that's just lazy journalism (a good bet). Or more interestingly they are interested in him and are using this Isak bid as a way of trying to sabotage our move for Ekitike.

They paid £116M for Wirtz. It's not hard to see why we'd want £150M minimum for Isak and tbh that's what he's worth considering the lack of strikers around.

I'd prefer to sell him for £100M next summer than £125M this summer.

Well blow me! Surprised to see we've actually bid for him in the first place and if the only reason it's been rejected is payment structure then you'd like to think this would actually get done. Before the weekend would be nice.

The thing I don't get with this is that surely if it were the case that massive contingent of the media who support Liverpool would've been reporting it immediately. Signing every single player that we've been failed with bids for in the past two seasons in the space of a month would be quite a flex.

The obvious elephant in the room is that we're spending a huge amount this summer because we know our prize pony is off next summer anyway. Which is fair enough and makes a lot of sense, but that kind of pre emptive spending can bite you on the arse.

And Gallagher and the the only poor sod we don't end up signing is Trafford. Then all these top quality £50M+ Footballers will have to watch the ball fly over their head from his every kick.
