If we can expand then we should expand, its as simple as that in my view. Obviously it would cost a shit ton of money to do because any expansion will require some elaborate structural work and architectural genius to get around the problems. If PIF are willing to pump the required amount millions (hundreds of millions) into the stadium project then it's 100% worth it to stay at St James's. It's already been proved we can host concerts at the ground so that's not an issue really, just might need a bit of thought put into that side of things whenever the expansion is being planned to make those events easier to set up.

UCL Twitter account clipped up 4 different occasions where Newcastle players (Burn, Bruno, Tripps and Gordon) made tackle/blocks and the fans went nuts for it. We've gotten use to that happening in the last few games at home but it was on another level on Wednesday. Especially during those first 15 minutes, seemed like every tackle where ever it was on the pitch was celebrated.

Same here. Hard to stick up for him when he continues to make these poor decisions. Henderson is the worst one for me. So many reasons that guy should no longer be part of the squad, he's a waste of a squad place. Really will be such a frustrating situation if when Southgate leaves the next guy comes in and does the exact same tedious crap.

I agree. Always a fine line with drummer as to whether they make the game feel very European or like a shit England game away to Moldova. Think it was decent yesterday though.

Definitely does no harm for our status that's for sure. This result and everything surrounding it may well get some attention but actually getting out the group will probably be what would change some minds about us and how capable we are now.

She definitely seemed more frustrated with them than she has been in the past. Carragher was particularly rowdy and Micah is obviously happy to go along with all that. For what it's worth though, it was enjoyable to watch even if they did go a bit OTT at times. It's just nice to see them all being so positive about Newcastle/Howe/all the players.

Hopefully that will also stop everyone moaning about the white shorts and socks. They look great and we play mint in them, plus they are now iconic. Got to keep them and possibly even introduce it into the League.

He's getting there. All I keep thinking is if it took Gordon six months to get to the level he's at now it's going to take Tonali atleast that same amount of time (if not more) to get some consistency. He does suit this team very well as proven by that first half. It's the little things that need tweaking with him.

Has got better and better with each game this season. His technical ability has seen such a huge improvement but also his decision making and speed of thought has gone up a few notches. Seen him compared to Micheal Carrick and Darren Fletcher on here, didn't particularly think much of it but tonight I saw alot of Carrick in what he did albeit with more of a attacking string to his bow.

Impressive stuff. He's a Champions League player now, he's proven it these last 3 games he's more the capable of being part of this team when it's at its best. His recovery pace is actually superior to Botmans I would say and we needed it on atleast 2 occasions tonight. Bravo!

No denying he worked exceptionally hard tonight. I got some stick in the match thread for saying he was poor at HT. Still don't think he had a great game but played his part well considering he saw very little of the ball in meaningful areas. I'm not convinced he's 100% fit, maybe it's not that, just something seems off about him last 2/3 games. Perhaps he's just out of form.

Isak poor so far. Hopefully that whack to the head wakes him up a bit. Been very wasteful with the ball.

Bench is the weakest it's been in a long time. Hopefully we don't need it to make an attacking impact.

Obviously it's a big step between Eredivisie and PL but the same can be said for League 2 and Anderson was exceptional on his loan and has proven himself this year, so there's no reason to think Minteh can't come back in the summer with intentions of trying to get into the first team squad. Really pleased for him, just a shame Kuol hasn't hit the same kind of form yet.

Just rest Joelinton, no good risking him when he could be fully fit again for West Ham. We'll need him for that with Gordon being out. Hell be 26 by the time he's got the first real opportunity to leave for MINIMUM £100M. The clause could well be anywhere between £100M/£110M, it doesn't actually say. If he leaves next summer for that price I'd be alright with that. I'd not be happy to see him go but I'd be content it and certainly be confident we'd replace him adequately.

You'd imagine if it was meant to be done live before the match itself they wouldn't have done it so obviously for all to see already. Almost certainly for a TV package before the game.

Looking at the Milan team that played against us and then the team PSG put out at the weekend you could argue Mbappe aside that Milan team is better. They seem to have gone backward in the last couple of years. Or perhaps they are just now focusing less on the "names" and more on the team as a whole.

Well that's depressing. Although in hindsight we're going to need this International break to allow players to recover from injury. So not all bad.

Botman is a huge miss for this.

Smith-Rowe potentially wanting out of Arsenal in January if he doesn't get more game time. He's talented but haven't seen enough of him to know if he'd fit our style well.
