  1. Its not that bad, easier to eliminate the competition early in the tournement when they arent taking it seriously and playing with a lot of the reserve players.
  2. If we had to get some profit in to comply with FFP i guess he was the obvious option. Find it hard to understand how we could be in the position where we needed £50m or whatever it was though. Must mean the management took a hell of a risk with the prior signings.
  3. If we are going to compete for the Champions league we are going to likely need a couple quality signings and a Gordon back in form. Getting Tonali back will also hopefully help massively. But as we stand right now I would be perfectly happy with a draw, think that is just being realistic based on our current circumstance.
  4. Im saying it probably looked bad from his viewpoint. If it looked like it was a red to him, it wouldnt be right to give a yellow either just because he didnt have access to replays/multi-angle/slow motion so that he could see the situation "properly".
  5. I dont think the ref deserves to much criticism for the red card incident. Schär walks towards him with a tilted head and the ref looks at it from as distance, impossible for him to see how soft it was and that it was actually Diaz that initiated the final contact. VAR obviously could have overturned it, but they have been told to intervene less(lets see how that turns out in practice when a cartel club get a wrong decision against them). After looking at the replays I do think the red card was wrong, but maybe not obviously wrong. It was a stupid involvement by Schär.

Dont get me wrong, I dont believe for a second myself that he actually thought the ball was still in play. Have a player ever been given 2 yellow cards for the "same" situation though? Dont think I have ever seen it being done in practice before. If so he should have gotten a 3rd for the theatrics.

I think his only defense here would be that he thought the ball was still in play.

Got so say that in the art of being a slimy cunt, Diaz did it beatifully. First "mistakenly" pushing him, acting like he thought the ball was still in play. Then him actually initiating the head contact without anyone noticing in it real time. Cant really credit him for being born slimy looking, but still.. 10/10.

Eddie is not going out saying players shouldnt go in like that if he didnt mean it. Its not diplomatic "blaming" your own player if you dont mean it, its weak. Ofcourse he is not going to hold it against him, im not going to either. But provoked or not, it was a stupid involvement that he will have to learn from.

You think Eddie is an absolute fanny?

Looking at that its ridicolous that only Schär got the red. Either none, only Diaz or both should have gotten the red. Schär definitely tilts his head aswell, so not blameless.
  12. Im proud of them too today, put up a hell of a fight today.
  13. Looking at all the individual player threads you would think we played amazing today.

Tough game for a young guy, constantly being under pressure like that. So not going to judge him to harshly, but definitely a little bit worrying performance.

Im perfectly fine with having zero tolerance of going in with your head like that. Just dont do it, easy as that. Soft as fuck, but its never going to get overturned.
  16. Win is all that matters, rest is forgotten.
  17. Even with 10 men, we shouldnt have 20% possesion against Southampton at home.
  18. Get Barnes on for Gordon pls, not his day.
  19. So fucking stupid from Schär, i dont care if its soft or not.
