First Wood and now Anderson? Starting to think our owners are bribing theirs Never thought Anderson was anything special myself. -

Insane that a team with Kane, Bellingham, Foden, Rice and Saka isnt looking better than this. -

In 2025/26 we will have a much improved squad. No more Richie, Dummett, and an invisible Hall on the bench. -

Said before that i would be happy either way. I think we will be very dangerous next year being the only top team only focusing in premier league. Dont think not getting Europe will hinder us in getting upgrades where its needed. Its not like we were going to pick from the top shelf anyways. -
Ehm, whats going on here?
-
Hell of a coincident that he was ready just in time when he was the only choice left
-
In terms of consistent impact for the team you are probably right. But for me, it is a betrayel against the soul of football to put anyone above an in form Hatem Ben Arfa I will never forgive Alan Pardew.

Alexander Isak - Nominated for Player of the Season

Kinda ironic considering how many goals we scored this season, but a new striker and a RW should definitely get priority this summer. -
Gordon belongs on the left wing, dont want to see him anywhere else next season. Murphy is a good squad player, but not a first choice for a team that want to challenge the top 4. LW is probably our most covered position..

Eddie Howe - Nominated for Manager of the Season
Displayname replied to InspectorCoarse's topic in Football
Frustrated me a few times this year, but with this last away win i got to say he did a very good job overall. I have probably been a little bit to negative at times. He wasnt given a simple task with Willock, Tonali and Joelinton out for most of the season. Especially with Longstaff having a massive drop off in form compared to last year aswell. -
I mean he did ask for a release clause. Dont doubt that he loves it here, but I dont think we can be sure of anything.
-
Didnt think anyone was going to meet his buyout clause, but after today i dont know. Truly an amazing player when he is at his best. Think only 3-4 clubs would able to turn his head though, dont know if they would be interested atm. Would for sure be sad to see him leave if it ends up that way, but to be able to use the funds from his sale to replace most of our championsship players would also bring a smile to my face haha.

I understand that not everyone can be wordsmiths, but surely you could do better than that? -

I dont know, maybe its just me. But in my head all these words have very similar pronounciation. The voice in my head is more american rather than english though, dont know if that makes a difference. But the fact that you can write the same pronounciation in so many different ways, even if we just look at the ones you listed together, kinda emphasizes my point thats its not exactly a straight forward language -

As someone who doesnt have english as a primary language, loosing feels natural to write. Probably made the mistake before myself. Lose/loose pretty much sounds the same. English is in many ways a nonsensical language. A bunch of germanics trying to sound french. Dont hate us for not being able to keep up with your nonsense every time. -

I will be happy either way. ECL could be very fun, but I also think it would hold us back in the Premier league. Sure we could play mostly reserves, but I just cant see Eddie doing that. Especially if we qualify to the knockout stage. Also think that Eddie himself only focusing on domestic games would help alot. -
Nothing wrong with what he said imo. Ofcourse its far from ideal, but he also understood why the club are doing it. I do think we should sell him in the summer while we have a chance to get something from him though. I just cant see him being happy with being a backup to Livramento, which is what he should be. While he does have alot of abilities left in him, he has also shown an awful amound of weaknesses this season. Livramento is the future and also a better player than the current version of Trippier. If he is ok not being part of the first 11 then i would be happy to keep him, his experience will always be an asset.

I am not claiming to have any solutions. Only gave my thoughts on what I think the board will do if we get another season like this. -
Eddie Howe - Nominated for Manager of the Season
Displayname replied to InspectorCoarse's topic in Football
Yes sort of as an excuse, since I dont think it fully explains a lot of our poor performances. Only reason we have a chance for 6 is because of the very slow start Chelsea had. If we forget about the league position for a moment and just look at the results, I dont think 17 wins and 14 losses are good enough for our owners if it happens again. Especially when alot of the individual games have had abysmal performances from us, even a couple of the wins. There are some migitating circumstances, like it being his first season in CL and the Tonali ban being a major blow. So my expectations are that we will improve massively next season, especially if we dont get Europe. But if we dont.. -

Benefit of the doubt in regards to him not being at fault for the injury crisis we have had. I agree that he has done an amazing job since he came, but I also do think we have owners that are demanding excellence. And two seasons in a row finishing 7-8 is not going to be enough. -

Dont think he is under pressure from the start (more than any other), but I do think he has sort of used up his free hit. Another season like this and I think he is gone. We have pretty ambitious owners. I know we had a lot of injuries and he can sort of use that as an excuse, but it could also have came from the playstyle and management of the squad. If it happens again next season he cant really get the benefit of the doubt, which I am willing to give him for now. -

Not going to go in to whatever discussion you guys have here, but sheep is a perfectly valid description of some people. There are those who simply doesnt deviate from what their group or leader says. Look at the maga people for instance, im sure you would agree. I am not saying it applies here, but it sure as shit isnt exclusive to the Trump cult. -

They gifted us so many chances. And most of their chances were gifts from us. So yeah shit, just like we were. -

You can say its great recovery, but also easily exploitable if Isak had a calm head. -

Wonder were we would have been if we had sold Trippier and used the money to replace Longstaff.
