So the refs don't know the rules then, shocking. -

Was pretty clear wasn't it? I'm not saying VAR got involved, but that they could have if they wanted. -

They always do if they think it's offside (after the goal is scored). -

VAR can still get involved though? It's only if they flag before the goal. -

DM when we are in attack, AM when we are defending. -

Yeah, but VAR doesn't intervene like that. Maybe just clever defending -

It's an interesting situation tbh. It's not like they can ignore the offside. And can they give a pen when the shove technically was before the freekick was taken? -

Sub him off honestly, can't take any chances with him. If he gets fucked, so does our season. -

No fucking clue. Knowingly relying on Trippier playing twice a week for 2 months is truly astonishing. -

Hope they don't keep all their focus on him them. Shouldn't be hard to find someone significantly better than what we have. I love Pope and what he has achieved with us. But his shotstopping isn't that great anymore and still as useless as ever with his feet. -

Blame the refs who don't give FKs unless you go down. -

Burn on yellow after 8 mins. Doesn't look good up against Haaland 😅 -

Willock has been at his best at LW. Surely just a straight swap with Barnes. Can't see Woltemade getting involved in anything up top alone today. -
Wondering a little bit that our recent uptick in form has something to do with who we have faced. How is Villa looking?
-
Gordon gets so much irrational hate towards him it's ridicolous. He is on track to breaking the CL record for goals in a season (if we ignore Mbappe this season). Ofcourse he is going to take that pen. If we can't accomodate players going for records like that because that doesn't make them a team player, we aren't ever going to get a great striker. Woltemade asking to take it, fine. Trippier throwing a hissy fit because his authority wasn't respected, slighty pathetic.

City aren't that great atm(which is essentially the same as Haaland isn't at his best), but still hard to see us getting anything at Etihad. Can't remember us ever putting up a fight there. If we can sneak a win though, things suddenly doesn't look that hopeless in the hunt for european places. Villa is free-falling. We have a pretty decent schedule after this. Then i actually looked at the table and saw that Villa was 14 points ahead, that won't be easy in 12 matches I guess -
I'd think he would want to stay here if he can keep his position as a number 9. He does look perfectly suited for the role for us if he can keep improving on his finishing. Took all his goals extremely well yesterday, also created one of the penalties. Sure he missed some aswell, but so does everyone, especially Isak. And every great striker has an ego ffs, doesn't mean he doesn't care about the team.

Honestly don't get what Trippier was thinking. Ofcourse Gordon is going to take that. He is the penalty taker and is the 2nd top scorer in the CL.
