He lacks technically (compared to elite players around him at Chelsea) that’s doesn’t mean he is bad though, physically and positionally is very good. His all round game is good, people saying he can’t kick a ball are just being hyperbolic. He won’t be coming here but he’d fit into this side very well.

Of course he has talent and I agree he’d be alot more effective if he started his runs further up. As I said before he needs to adapt his entire game though, I’m just not sure that he can.. even pushed further up he needs to learn decisive attacking actions rather than just playing like someone on fifa. Imagine those runs but with a decently timed pass on the end of them rather than just running into the 3rd defender that’s on him.

There’s a balance to be had, they wage they reportedly have Henderson on is ridiculous and will just alienate the players that just grinded out promotion for them

Forest will crash and burn this season imo, trying to do to much to quickly bringing in new players on big wages which is a recipe for disaster.

This stat makes him sound more effective than he is in reality, he must attempt dribbles 4/5x more than a lot of wingers in the league. As the old saying goes - if you throw enough shit eventually some will stick.

I’m one of the weirdos that thinks he’s a really good option to have in the #6 role. He’ll be needed if Bruno picks up an injury or has to be pushed forward again due to lack of availability of our other CMs. For a 2nd option at DLP he is perfect for us right now.

I think it’s pretty straightforward, ASM needs to adapt his game and incorporate himself into the attacking phases of our game better than just trying to take 4/5 players himself or just cut in and shoot. Remains to be seen if he can do this or more to the point, if Howe thinks he’s coachable enough to adapt.. the player needs to drop his ego down a few levels before he can even begin imo.

I think the Paqueta stuff in Jan was a smokescreen for us to attempt to sign Bruno

Paqueta is just a pipe dream for this window, there hasn’t been any concrete links on him or any noise that we really want to sign him. Bruno and his insta posts really set this off

To see his best is to play him as a #6 imo, depends on the players in front of him as well of course. I think that’s why Howe deployed him further up so far, just didn’t have enough quality ahead of him in the squad last season to put him in his natural position so instead we got more out of him as part of the front 2. Like others have said he’s talking about champions league and what not, let’s just enjoy him while he’s here.

Understandably this sort of thing had got fans assuming we would spend silly money, proof is the pudding though and by the end of this window we’ll have a real idea of how far the spending will go in the short-mid term. Ownership has done a really good job so far picking up the mess that Ashley left, obviously the bar is set low as everyone was just happy to be rid of Ashley but they have done great PR work getting the fans onside and selling more shirts than we have done since the Bobby years probably. Comments like challenge in 5 years might have been a bit short sighted though.
