  1. Just chucking numbers around, but I can see it being maybe 65m (euros) with an extra 10m in achievable add-ons. If this 80m figure is accurate that is.
  2. All I remember about that guy is him winding Nunez up to the point of getting him sent off.
  3. I did enjoy that the bid has seemingly been rejected a mere minutes after some of the more wanky Newcastle ITK twitter accounts said it's getting completed today.
  4. Do you mean 'we' as in this place? If so, then yeah. The club will be fine, pre-season is still a few weeks away.
  5. Guess now we see how badly we want him. Go back in with another bid, or move on.
  6. This is really fucking dumb. I can't believe it's gotten to the point where The Athletic have actually managed to get an article out of it. It's purely down to Chelsea having the largest collection of big names players that need shifting off the wage bill. If the PIF were really secretly trying to ghost own Chelsea, surely the best way they could help is a bumper front of shirt sponsorship from one of their companies. Instead it's looking like Chelsea will have to go with Stake. A company last seen on the front of Everton's shirt, who they can only have as a one year stop gap anyway.
  7. Think he's taking some time off, isn't he?
  8. Starting to seem like more of a goer this one. The morning after the Barella links we woke up to a bunch of journos saying nothing concrete has actually happened. This one (Craig Hope aside) seems to be getting more and more traction.
  9. Aye. I know there has been some turmoil with Maldini leaving, but still feel like Tonali wants to play the rest of his career there.
  10. Given I doubt he'd cost over 30m, Robinson would be a great signing. Already the business going forward, think we would come on leaps and bounds under our coaching team. Has some much needed pace to add to the back line as well.
  11. Delany happy enough to farm clicks off us I see.
  12. Any money we get a similar post from Fab around the same time next week.
  13. People seemed to say this, but Inter didn't have one.
  14. I know rumour coming out of the England camp was that he would prefer a move to London, but this may end up not meaning much if: A) He is also happy about the idea of play for us as... B) Spurs are unwilling to pay more than we are for him. I know we're trying to be cautious, but there's zero chance Levy will sanction spending even 40m on a player out of contract in 12 months.
  15. You were close with one. Wasn't Bobby desperate for us to go sign Fowler? Think it was when he ended up going to Leeds.
  16. Shame it turned out he was a massive racist.
  17. Think it's more that people (Hope, Edwards etc) have heard it's likely to be two elite players that can immediately improve the first team in terms of the majority of the budget. But that there may also be scope to add another 1/2 in terms of depth options.
  18. This place will be like Lord of the Flies if it's a few weeks before anything happens.
  19. The good news is the betting markets seem to be slow catching up to this, money to be made backing Spurs as his next club.
  20. Yeah, bias aside I'd say both sides are about even when it comes to the possibility of finishing in the CL spots next season (whether that means top 4 or 5 who knows yet). You imagine over the next 5-10 years we will start to pull away from them, but that probably doesn't mean as much to someone who turns 27 in November. If he were 22/23 then maybe he'd take it into account more.
  21. Barca using their local journo's to try and reverse engineer a transfer.
  22. I think it's likely more been the case of no one knowing for sure what the fuck was going on at Spurs. Now Postecoglu is in and has said he definitely wants Maddison it's probably made things a lot clearer.
  23. This has always been the insider line, right? That ultimately Maddison prefers the idea of moving to London.
  24. Think it depends on their asking price. If they're still asking for a fee no one will pay (50m+) then I can see it dragging on. The further into the window we get the more twitchy they become/the more likely the fee is to drop to something we deem acceptable.
