The Chelsea lot have always had a warmer relationship with us than the rest of the league, as well as the Saudi link I believe Staveley and Ghoddoussi have a friendship with Boehly that pre-dates either of them being involved with their respective clubs. Believe Chelsea have always been open to negotiate, it's just been they overvalue our targets.
-
Yeah, I believe Targett is actually on more money than Dan Burn.
-
I also think they may now be betting on the rules being relaxed by UEFA and PL given how Saudi Arabia are taking a lot of top talent out of Europe. Wiil take time, but another few Summers like the past one and it will be harder and harder for the PL and CL to sell themselves as the competitions where all the best players in the world play.

Yeah, FFP is kind of intrinsically linked to what transfers we can and can't do. This is the transfer thread....

Loads of managers talk about moments.

I actually think that (as well as a 10k-15k capacity extension) there will also be a complete refurbishment of the interior. I know it's all been given a lick of paint recently, but I'm talking about new flooring and wall panelling going down over the concrete/brick that's there currently. New TVs, new kiosks etc.

If we're doing it this way then I'm far more into the pert 7.

I honestly think he has been done by Levy here. Levy likely knew/had been told Kane didn't want it to be left this late so has waited till now to accept pretty much the same bid Bayern put in a week ago. Now he can spin it to the Spurs fans as Kane being the villain next season for leaving (likely for Man U or Chelsea) for free when the club could have gotten a fee for him this window.
-
Potentially true, but on the flip side I can see Spurs genuinely dropping out if Levy remains there much longer. Don't get me wrong, he is no where near Ashley, but he has a similar 'I refuse to engage in daft football spending' vibes. Like, right now we're in a phase where it takes spending 100m+ every window just to stand still.

Think this place gets pretty weird about all the local journos to be fair. Some people seem to be only a couple steps away from mailing bomb threats to Luke Edwards.

Just had a read, great article all round. In terms of the identity of the exec/club, it has to be Spurs & Levy right? As others, and the article, have mentioned we have a good relationship with the new ownership at Chelsea. City are basically in the same boat in terms of ownership that we are (plus, why would they care, they're not going to drop out of the top 4). Just leaves Spurs, Man U, Liverpool, & Arsenal. Of that lot it's always Levy we have heard as being the one constantly moaning to the PL.

Newcastle United vs. Aston Villa: 12/08/23 @ 17:30 (Sky Sports)

Aye, no Lacelles. Remember Schar and Trippier having a mare that day. -
I think most people inside football will know that, like the All or Nothing stuff, a lot of the stuff that makes the air in this will be very stage managed.
-
We also like to go about 'balance' a lot. So don't think they're necessarily against signing someone with the idea that they're likely going to be there for the back 9 of their career, rather than with half an eye on sell on value. As long as we don't make a habit of making multiple signings in that bracket per window.

Think Tonali will get thrown in for this. Not usually Howes ideal way to introduce a player, but Longstaff isn't going to be ready to start, and I think he sees Anderson as more of a forward than CM. This is a tough way to start the season. Feel like may have just enough to scrape the win. Going 2-1. (Barnes on his league debut and Isak). -
Aye, was about to say, any CB that comes in this week isn't starting against Villa.

Reckon Minteh at least is going to be in the first team squad next season (24/25) getting consistent minutes from the bench.
-
City chasing Paqueta and agreeing to pay 30m for Maguire has to make this one of the all time worst mornings for West Ham fans.
-
Think Arsenal were never going to part with Tierney that early in the window. Now they know what they have it's far more likely.
-
Not according to any actual half decent source, no.
-
Any side in the league that isn't Man City would be screwed with an injury crisis like that. We can't spend 200m this window, as much as people seem to want to.
-
It's wild like, it's like some people want to fast forward a few years to where not getting top 4 will be a reason to be gutted/sack a manager. These are still the fun days, people need to enjoy it!

Again, Everton spent aggressively and look at them. We can't just pluck a 50m a season shirt sponsor out of our arse.
