  1. Would require a quite spectacular reversal on the 'no dickheads' policy.
  2. Wonder if they have gone early, or something has been worked out with Castore. They technically still have a few days left, right?
  3. Just for the record one of my ealier contributions to this place was to help start that trend of posting Jennifer Aniston pics in match threads we were all particularly nervous about. Different levels.
  4. Always felt like it would be a big ask. He is super comfortable there. Would only think he'd have his head turned by a Liverpool or City, and they're not coming in for him. Can see him staying at West Ham for the rest of his career.
  5. NUFC twitter has been particularly embarrassing this afternoon/evening.
  6. If I were Pope I'd be waiting to see what happens with Pickford. Seen a few rumours this could be the Summer he makes a big move. Seen Chelsea mentioned. Pope to Everton would make a lot of sense in that scenario.
  7. He's also 5 years younger than Wilson. Would be a good few seasons of not having to worry about a backup striker.
  8. I think unlike Wilson DCL would help us offer an actual plan B. When we swap out Isak for Wilson we can't really change the way we play all that much. Bringing on DCL would. That's what I'm guessing a large part of thinking behind it is.
  9. Wouldn't be massively thrilled with DCL with his recent injury record... But people saying it's an Ashley era move have clearly already forgotten the Ashley era.
  10. Imagine this means it will be Spor. Last time we couldn't get our first choice and had to go for the second pick it went alright!
  11. Can't remember if it was someone here or on Twitter put it in a way that made sense to me. Given what happened with Pope's shoulder this season Howe is likely unwilling to risk being derailed for another long period by relying on Pope's shoulder. Could be wrong but I don't think this is the first issue he has had with it.
  12. He gets forgotten about these days, but Cabeye really was quality. He isn't on Bruno's level, but he was class.

    Nick Pope

Would make sense if all these Ramsdale rumours are accurate. We know Dubravka is happy enough to play number 2. No way Pope would be.
  14. Aye, we aren't going to spend 60m+ on someone to come in and sit on the bench/provide depth.
  15. Signing Rabiot would be quite the reversal on the 'no dickheads' policy. Isn't going to happen. We won't even be talking to him.
  16. Ramsdale one is an odd one. I do think he is an upgrade on Pope, but only marginally. But then I said the same about Pope with Dubravka and was massively wrong, so I'll trust the recruitment team/Eddie.
  17. Not confident going into this one at all. Our away form combined with them being a tricky side to play against at the best of times has made me very pessimistic about our chances. That being said I reckon we will end up 7th, got a feeling both us and Man U will get beat on the final day.
  18. As others have said, not having Joelinton, Tonali, & Willock for most of the season is what has really killed us. Our three most phsyical CMs all missing, all (largely) at the same time. You can handle one missing, maybe even two, but all three has left our midfield looking very lightweigh most of the season.
  19. Howe won't be under pressure currently. The noises coming out of the club all season is how everyone was prepared for it to be a much tougher campaign, the injuries on top of all that just made it worse. Now, if we don't get Europe and find ourselves in a similar position this time (or even come Jan/Feb) next season, then he will be under big pressure.
  20. Been saying this for a while, the Sesko/Solanke links/wishful thinking are non-starters, even if Wilson goes. They only become goers if Isak leaves.
  21. Sesko isn't going to happen. We aren't going to drop 70m+ on a guy who plays in the same position as Isak. Unless Isak leaves.
  22. Chuffed with both these lads coming in. Finally getting some depth to the squad, although frankly if Eddie can improve Tosin in the same way he has with others there's every chance we end the season with him and Botman as our CB pairing. As good as Schar is on the ball we have been desperate for some recovery pace at CB for a long time. Think Kelly is a solid PL player but likely mainly been brought in for depth.
  23. Mathematically it's in our hands. Realistically it's in Brightons hands. Their final 2 games of the season are both at home v Chelsea then Man U. I can't see them losing both.
  24. He had a glorious breakdown when the goal was ruled out
