  1. Yeah I'm not sure what the gripe is here. Obviously they're going to want to extract as much money as possible from the "Corporate" tickets but that doesn't mean the whole ground is going to be big squishy sofas, personal TV screens and hand-delivered temaki. That picture of a hypothetical seating plan (I saw it on Twitter, might be on here too) showed four "corporate" areas - one on each touchline roughly the size of the current directors box, plus a thin strip across the sides that seem to be roughly where the current boxes are. Everything else (including behind both goals) seemed to just be standard seating/standing.
  2. Presumably these are coming out in batches to avoid being marked as spam?
  3. Only going to sell-out if the tickets are "cheap as fuck"
  4. Have you tried searching for "Newcastle & Sund erland Airport"?
  5. Who do we expect to be back by then - Longstaff, Willock...? Botman maybe? Wilson?
  6. We have Liverpool (a) on Monday, this tie Saturday/Sunday then Man City at home the following Saturday. No European fixtures until February. No reason not to play a full strength XI.
  7. I've been a bit downbeat on our top 4/5 chances this season but if Man City win this afternoon we'll finish the weekend ahead of Spurs who were supposedly title contenders a few weeks ago... If we can stay in touching distance through this injury crisis we've got a chance. Edit - a chance of top 4/5 that is, not a title challenge
  8. So being in the group stage plus one win and two draws has earned us about £17m so far, plus three home games at a minimum should be (50,000x£60) another £9m. That's £26m at the very least. Isn't the TV money paid out based on coefficient or something like that? I remember reading that we'd get a relatively measly amount even if we progressed quite far.
  9. The only argument I've seen against this is that they both play on Saturday. That's unfortunate. Play it tomorrow.
  10. Obviously we won't do it but I'd be tempted to sit Miley & Joelinton deep and put Bruno as a sole #8/10 to supply Isak. Edit - assuming Longstaff is out
  11. Perhaps we assume/know he's been humbled by how things have transpired? He's obviously a player we really like and he fits the bill of being able to play across the front three, hopefully good enough to play regular minutes but also young enough to understand that he has to earn a place ahead of Isak & Wilson.
  12. I can't believe how much we seem to have rattled them. We've achieved fuck all, followed every rule laid down and now they want to run off in tears and play in the bloody Championship, f**king hell
  13. Well it's no worse. Basically they voted on a proposal that would have stopped us loaning players from PIF-owned clubs in January but that proposal was not passed. So if we wanted to loan Neves (for example) there's nothing stopping us.
  14. This was just a temporary ban. If they have no intention of moving players between their clubs in January they may as well vote in favour to stifle us short-term then see how things are leading up to the summer window.
  15. From the little I know about Dan Ashworth, I can say two things for certain - he is very, very good at his job and he does not speak in public unless absolutely necessary. Considering those two factors, I'd be really surprised if our masterplan was to bring Neves in on a cheap loan in January, only for Ashworth to torpedo those plans in November by very publicly saying "Oh well, there's nothing in the rules currently *wink wink* that stops us from loaning players from Saudi clubs" I have no idea what sort of 4D chess is going on here, but that much I am certain about.
  16. Our deal with Adidas is a great example. The history between the club and Adidas and the nostalgia element amongst the fan base means that Adidas will inevitably make more money from NUFC than Nike, Umbro etc would have, therefore the deal has more value to Adidas than it would any of those companies.
  17. If I ever begin to doubt the potential of our "project", I just remind myself that the Premier League collectively shits itself every time it ponders what happens when the giant is fully awoken...
  18. I was going to make some comment about Arsenal's spending not being comparable to others in the top six but I was wrong. They've spent over €800m in the past five seasons and they're only behind Man Utd and Chelsea in that time in terms of net spend.
  19. Other clubs do do it tbf and have done for years. Anyone who's played Football Manager knows the old "Send to affiliate club" option!
  20. I don't think we can assume the other clubs with multiple owners will vote against this. It's temporary, so unless Brighton's (or whoever elses) January plans hinge on them loaning a player from one of "their" clubs there's no reason for them to vote against it. Bring the rule in for January, work out what to do in the summer and beyond later, once that potential avenue for us to replace Tonali is closed. They might as well call it "The Tonali/Neves Rule".
  21. Only if there's a clause and only during the transfer window. It's the same reason Anderson couldn't play at the end of 21/22 even though his loan had officially ended & he was back at Newcastle.
