Into the XI or just the squad? -
Straight to pens

Why is it that the people who were going on other people's ST now can't go? Presumably ST holders are still taking up the tickets to get the points then just not showing up?

Had an email this afternoon advertising "Discounted Hospitality" for the Wings Suite - down from £300+VAT to £250+VAT for Burnley and Palace games. Still 200+ spots available for each game. Does feel that if the performances and results don't pick up it may look like they've gone too far too soon on the upgrades to the Hospitality offering.

If Wilson on their keeper was a foul, then their keeper on Gordon definitely was.

Elliot Anderson (now playing for Nottingham Forest)

He's 20. At the same age Jack Grealish had 18 PL appearances to his name (Anderson has 23) and was just about to be relegated with Villa and spend three seasons in the Championship. Now I'm obviously not saying he's going to develop into Jack Grealish but he's got plenty of time to work out his own game and improve. -

If Twitter is correct and we line up with eight English-qualified players (Pope, Trippier, Burn, Longstaff, Anderson, Gordon, Wilson, Barnes) - when was the last time we had that many? -
Sold for £7m (Chronicle)

I actually know the bloke in the video and he is most definitely a guy with genuine concerns, not some jealous football fan.

Comfortable now, 3-0 up after an hour or so

It does, but as the FFP calculation is done over a three-year rolling period the +£100m still helps their figures this summer. They sold him summer 21/22 season so it encompasses 21/22, 22/23 and 23/24.
-
No, but the £100m Grealish sale is still within the current FFP window, which has enhanced their spending power versus ourselves (who have brought in around half of that in total over the past three years).

Brighton have lost Macallister & Caicedo, West Ham have sold Rice. Would you have preferred we sold Bruno & spent an extra £90m?
-
We clearly don't make signings purely with the next season in mind. We keep getting told over and over - this is a long term project, we're ahead if schedule etc - maybe we should take them at their word? If they think Livramento is our RB for most of the next ten years, maybe we decide to sign him rather than the 8th RW on our list? Maybe our top RW target becomes available next summer?
-
I have absolutely no idea what anyone saying that isn't a red is getting at. Sometimes these decisions have an element of doubt either way, or an argument can be made, but he literally goes right through Isak who has positioned himself between the defender and the ball.

The only accusations that could stick would be something like the Sela money actually coming from PIF/KSA directly rather than Sela itself. I think that was/is one of the things they're trying to get Man City on?

They own it, he runs it. They've got their fingers in so many pies and there's so much involved day-to-day they need someone who is on top of it all at all times and that's Darren Eales. He's definitely a character but I think that's kind of the point. He was basically the face of Atlanta United (which they talk about in Ep3) and you're not going to do that being a calm, quiet and understated character like Dan Ashworth.
-
That's not quite how it works. If we sell him for £10m and replace him for £30m (on a 5-year-deal for arguments sake), yes that £10m would cover the first chunk of the amortisation (£6m per year + the difference in wages) but not the full amount. We'd still have to find the difference down the line by either selling someone else or finding additional revenue.
-
That's a completely different thing though - you're rating the squad there, not the transfer window in isolation.
-
Agree with all of this. I initially wanted two CMs but the emergence of Miley and the improvement in Anderson means getting one CM of real quality is enough. It's also interesting that Ashworth (I think it was him) said it would take three summers to get the squad where we needed it. Assuming we address CB and RW next summer, he's not going to be far wrong, although we may need to factor in Trippier and Wilson in particular being another year older.
