  1. Thanks team, because of this thread, I've had the "Adam Johnson, Paedophile..." song stuck in my head at work for the last couple of hours.
  2. After all the support they gave for Adam Johnson, the tag 'Flag Nonces' is richly deserved.
  3. Win or a draw would be a brilliant result. Would be great to hear the wailing from the scousers and their media chums if we cost them the title.
  4. I still find it incredible that professional football clubs think it's an acceptable idea to bring in proven failures that have trashed multiple clubs like Allardyce, Pardew and Bruce. Surely it's better to take a punt on an up and coming unknown than it is to take on a guaranteed failure. I'd be devastated if I were a WBA fan right now. They saw what Cabbage Heid did to us, and now their arseholes are next up for the Bruce fisting. Grim.
  5. Faue one. I wasn't saying he was a bad player, far from it, he just never got anywhere near his potential.
  6. I remember that foursome of Shearer, Bellamy, Kluivert and Ameobi well. Should have blown everyone else away, with Bellamy running off a target man. However, although Kluivert clearly still had the touch and strike, he never had the desire or fitness to make it count. He was never going to displace Shearer without an effort, so he chose to wind his career down early. Sad. Bellamy could have been world class with his pace and finishing and Shearer's game was perfect for his game, but his decision making was crap, he was constantly and totally unnecessarily considering his pace, offside. He also had a personality that annoyed everyone, so he got shipped on and became a journeyman. Ameobi probably should have been less crap than he was, but he was good enough for 4th choice at the time. I can see why Shearer ended up staying number one throughout - he had delivered the goods up until then and still did a job even when he was knackered. The others had some big flaws.
  7. If it pans out nicely, we could well be cheering on Burnley to beat us last game of the season to see the scouse mackems flushed. That would be delicious.
  8. I'm going to own up and admit that I wanted Emery, and I thought Howe would be rubbish. Oh, how wrong I was, and happily so. Best manager since Robson with potential to be better and a class act too. Match made in heaven.
  9. I'm tempted to say since Shearer. There wasn't the same reception obviously, as we didn't know how good he really was when we got him, but I can't think of another signing since then that's been as good as quickly. Cabaye and Robert were class, but Bruno looks slightly better. Colo was class, but took a while to become a legend. Other big names like Owen and Kluivert flopped hard. Exciting times.
