Right, own up. Who is behind the Nun tumblers account?

Hugo Ekitike (not playing for Liverpool for a while)

Their finances are scadalous. I think they launder a huge amount through the Spanish Government where they buy things like their training facilities from the government at knock down prices. -

I think it's been proven that FFP is only there to generate fines money for EUFA. The richest clubs are more than happy to pay their tithe to stay in Europe. If FFP had any effectiveness, Real Madrid and PSG would have been disbanded by now, but other than a few bribes, they've been left well alone. I say flash the cash, FFP is irrelevant. -

Not a melt down, but I can almost hear the rolling of eyes in the background. -

I really like the bit where he does loads of tricks, fools no one and ends up standing exactly where he started, but with the added bonus of the defence getting a chance to get set and mark his teammates before he gets the chance to pass. A great laugh for him, but if I was one of the coaches, I wouldn't be laughing, because that's exactly the sort of crap that he needs to get out of the habit of doing. -
There is no way anyone thinks Wood is worth £10m now. Maybe £10.

Big upgrade on Darlow. I assume that him and Dubs will duke it out next season, with a top GK coming next summer and the winner between Dubs and Pope staying as no.2. If anything, it's competition, which I welcome. Welcome piece of business in my opinion.

Freddie Woodman (now playing for Liverpool)

Goes to show just how huge the jump is from youth to PL. Only the very, very best youth players become consistent 1st XI PL players. The vast majority end up sliding down the divisions. -
He made collosal amounts of money from us. He trousered the TV money, got free advertising and sold the club for far more than he paid. His merge of club finances into MA Holdings was to obfuscate the fact that the income wasn't being reinvested into wages, transfer fees or infrastructure. In fact, he was saying that the money that did go to the club to run it was coming from his own pocket, which is true as long as you understand that all income was going direct into his pocket too. One of life's parasites. He's made a fortune out of buying cheap, bleeding dry and selling on, all without caring about the impact of what he does on anyone else. I hope he buys the m*ckems.

I really hope so. Hopefully a full pre-season with Eddie will turn him into a well rounded player rather than being told just to try and score a goal all by himself while everyone else parks the bus under Bruce. If he develops his team play, fitness and work ethic, which are all easy things to work on, he could be a really decent player for us going forward. Fingers crossed. -
Freddie Woodman (now playing for Liverpool)

Hopefully the latter. Darlow is nowhere good enough to be our No.2. Woodman would have been an acceptable No.2, but he (completely understandably) wants to leave to become 1st choice somewhere else. We either sign another youngster with potential and take a risk or we sign an solid older keeper who is happy to take a big payday. The nuclear option is we sign a genuine top keeper and Dubs becomes No.2, but that seems very unlikely since our big outlays will probably be on a top striker and at least one decent winger. -
Probably still would, like.

I can't say that I'm that saddened when I see footballers piss their millions away. I'd rather see support given to actual poor people first who struggle to put food on the table, not those that piss away sums of money that the vast majority of familes couldn't even comprehend.
-
I can confirm that both of those opinions are unpopular. Mainly because they fly in the face of the evidence on display. Speed was solid and reliable. Given was probably the best keeper in the PL over the whole period he was at the club. Was in the top 2 or 3 every season he was here.

Can't wait for Fun88 to be fucked off at the end of next season. Hopefully we'll get someone other than a betting parasite on our kits.

I thought it was implied that 10m don't have large savings, otherwise it would be a non-issue.

In fairness, cash isn't a great thing to have hanging around in large amounts. The vast majority of my assets are not cash, since inflation is much higher than interest at the minute. Although I agree with you that £500 is nowt. All it takes is a boiler or car failure and you're left up poo creek. I wonder what the solution is. Partly living wage, partly education that you should have an emergency reserve. Partly society valuing fiscal security again rather than conspicuous consumption, even when people can't afford it.

Nathan Ake would be a phenomenal signing for us. Proper physical defender - him and Burn in the middle with Trippier guarding the quicker players would be brilliant, nothing would get past them. Only problem is that City still rate Ake and want him to stay on their bench. I can't see it happening unless Ake forces the move unfortunately.
-
Great signing. For every Bruno doing magic, you need a Targett doing the steady stuff. Massive fan of these 'glue' type players that hold the team together, especially ones who are a proven fit. Great news.
-
Jesus. The way he just brushes over the fact that he left the club in such a state that it took heroics from Eddie to keep us up. It's as though he thinks no one watched what happened and he can just tell us a new 'truth'. Not only is he a managerial fraud, but an absolute liar too. Gutless sack of shit with zero moral compass.

Chris Wood (now playing for Nottingham Forest)
JumpersForGoalposts replied to BeloEmre's topic in Football
Our need for a top half PL striker is priority number one. Ekitike is a fantastic talent, but not the answer for next year. He's the answer (and a great one) for a couple of years time. Our GK is decent. Our defence is OK (if we sign Targett). Our midfield sort of functions (in spite of our weak wingers). Yes, there is lots to do, but a proven CF is still priority one. -
Just seen a pic of her. Proper pram face. Like a sex doll thats been hosed down with creosote.

Free yourself from the ingrained pessimism of the Ashley era. No longer are we constrained to a squad consisting of 11 super average 'purples' backed up by a mish mash of contract misfits and failed youngsters. We are now allowed to buy more than one player per position. Ekitike will likely be an excellent player, but at 19 can't be relied on to lead the line right away. Wilson is good, but is injured at least 50% of the time, so we need a new 1st choice striker. Ideally around 30 years of age and proven PL quality so they can help rear Ekitike into being their successor after they've fired us into to Europe. -

He isn't anywhere good enough, even for third choice. I assume Ekitike will end up as 3rd choice behind Wilson and a marquee CF signing. -

Unfortunately, players (like everything else in life) are only worth what they are worth, irrespective of what you paid for them. With Wood, it's likely a £12.5m loss for the club. In isolation, that's a failure in the market but in the context of alongside Trippier, Bruno and Targett and survival, overall, writing him off is not the end of the world.
