  1. The financial constraints imposed by the PL has no bearing on training facilities - they’re ‘FFP neutral’. So they could’ve thrown money at the problem - which, in terms of finding land to build on, absolutely resolves the issue. Three years in and there doesn’t seem to be anything on the horizon. Odd that.

    Marc Guehi

After the Hall and Osulu transfers in July, and our failure to sell anyone, I’m struggling to see where the numbers to buy more come from - I still think that Guehi is one of those where because of his quality, the club would sign him now and claw back money later - either in Jan or June. Our amortised transfers and salaries are pretty much at 100% of projected income. We haven’t done anything commercially significant this summer.
  3. Aye, definitely. Botman and Schar are capable and technical defenders - Burn isn’t close to their technical proficiency. Burn will look better when Schar returns. He’s an excellent squad option though - I like having BDB on the books.
  4. Burn is definitely a better player than quite a few give him credit for. He’s also a much better LB than plenty do
  5. The lad’s fee is the problem - he clearly isn’t worth anything like what we paid for him. There is plenty of potential there, and hopefully he’ll fulfill it. I can’t shake the thought that he is the sort of player you sign when you’ve broken into the big boys club, not when you’re trying to get there.

    Joe Willock

I’d play him ahead of Joelinton in midfield tbh, though I always liked them as a double act on the left
  7. The Football League would have been bricking it that these clubs pull out or start throwing the matches again. Usual dummy spit and threats would have worked in getting the rules changed. They don’t actually like sporting competition, these owners.
  8. No, Izakaya absolutely has a point. The revenue could only go up - and you don’t need to ‘hold back’ on commercial deals; they can have break clauses and have one-year contracts. The revenues have went up as they would have under any reasonably competent ownership. We’re not even getting low-hanging fruit sponsorship from KSA. The criticism is absolutely valid.
  9. He’s knocked Ketsbaia into a tin foil hat, like
  10. Hope so - and still in the League Cup would be nice, too
  11. I don’t think we’re close to panic stations - we just look a bit rusty and ‘off’. We’ve also had pretty much all our key players look out of form - which happens at pretty much every club - and we’re playing with two not-so-technical centre backs which isn’t helping. If we’re lower mid table at Xmas, then I’m comfortable with asking more searching questions.
  12. Wimbledon’s climb back to the Football League is still a great story mind, love that they saved their club and climbed all the way up to play Franchise FC in competitive matches. Those wankers in Milton Keynes should be ashamed
  13. Haha yep - have we ever won away to Wimbledon? I genuinely can’t remember ever winning at Plough Lane or Selhurst vs them
  14. NUFC manager plays strong side in first League Cup match of the season Sorry like, but this is what I want from an NUFC manager. Wasn’t a great performance but we’re taking these games seriously
  15. It was a shite pen - perfect height and power for the keeper
  16. They’ve got a man mountain in goal. Hit it hard and low ffs
  17. Scabs still trying to bait our lot - but I suspect that the Miners’ Strike is too far in the past for our away end …
