  1. The BBC watching a different game to me - unless I dreamed us hitting the post twice
  2. I bet you did, you dirty bollocks
  3. Agreed mate - I think this is spot-on. It doesn’t make my soul happy, but it is absolutely the case.
  4. That does suggest Wissa and Isak did exactly the same thing tbf - Wissa wanted to play CL football, Isak wanted to join a club who could win it. They both used their clubs as stepping stones, they both acted like unprofessional knackers to get their move, they both got exactly what they wanted.
  5. The ‘Champions League’ was always a parcel of greedy pap, delivered up to the ‘big clubs’ to buy them off. UEFA murdered European football as a panacea to the whines of the heavyweights who couldn’t be sated even with having several clubs from each league to guarantee qualification and a group stage to guarantee a number of games once there - they still needed to be bought off again with the new format. My earliest memory of the European Cup was Steaua’s win - and by the time I understood and loved football, it was the likes of Red Star Belgrade winning it. That will never, ever happen again - and club football is all the shitter for it. I can’t get misty-eyed for the previous format which did so much damage to European football - even if the new format makes it all an even bigger joke. If having the champions only is now anathema, I’d be happier seeing a giant knockout tournament with no seeding, and invite the champions of every country plus additional based on coefficients. A 256 club knockout with two legs until the final would give the finalists 15 games to milk it - and would bring back some peril. 256 clubs means that Europe’s ‘big leagues’ still get their bloated roster into the tournament. I know it won’t happen because it’s about money, not sport. But I can dream.
  6. I love how they always say this shite, yet they all keep getting sacked. Almost as if they don’t win enough games.
  7. I just wish international football would fuck off into a corner and die the slow death it deserves. It’s absolute shite supported by mostly whoppers.
  8. Yep - though it’ll also depend on home domestic cup ties
  9. Elanga needs time, and his sitter vs Villa opening day had the feel of Tomasson vs Sheff Wed even at the time. My worry would be the crowd getting on his back - the constant groans and moans may not be too far away if his current form continues.
  10. It’ll be around that again with CL football
  11. The figures on this article look right - just multiply by the number of games to get a rough total. We usually sit at around £35-40m matchday revenue - Spurs took in about £118m last year.
  12. I can remember Carr’s first few games - he was like shit off a stick, me and my mates were excited about him. But like you said, that’s all his game was.
  13. History of his position at Milan here - and there is zero need for the snarky, bitchy personalised shite at the end. I don’t think we’ve ever even had a discussion on here but there is an ignore option - suggest you use it if I irritate you. https://www.transfermarkt.com/sandro-tonali/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/397033/wettbewerb/IT1
  14. Not in terms of Ramsey, who I think is a Longstaff upgrade (with a Willock injury record) - but Woltemade is an interesting one, given he’s not a traditional centre forward by any stretch - but neither was Isak when we signed him.
  15. I still think Howe and his system are likely to bring more success, and at this point the squad is moulded completely in Howe’s image. Time is as usual needed for the new signings to bed in - and not all signings are going to work out.
  16. He wasn’t an 8 at Milan, and he looked poor there for us because he was out of position. He’s a defensive holding midfielder.
  17. Tonali is an excellent midfielder, but I wouldn’t describe him as a creative technical player.
