Because match fitness is as much about sharpness as physical fitness. He’ll need to be eased back in all likelihood -

Yep, I still think Trippier is comfortably our best RB -

I’m ok with the draw, but that was poor. The four points we’ve got so far is as reflective of the opposition as us - every area of the pitch needs to improve and quickly or our luck will run out fast. -
The accounts are of public record. It is why FFP cripples us - once you add the amortised transfers on our books, then it is already potentially more than our turnover
-
For 24/25 we're not - only the Hall and Osula transfers class as the current season, with no outgoings
-
Honestly, I think it’s a matter of time before the football press starts following suit. PSR has so completely fucked the transfer market that the hacks must be sick as fuck.

Tbf, probably just my own bias speaking - if we’re talking London (and not a commute from distant suburbia), then I’d want millions in the bank to be able to buy a decent size house near the centre. I’m done with living in flats or apartments. But there is always something on or something to do there - so I don’t doubt that folks will enjoy living there. Manchester is a bleak city as far as I’m concerned - and lacking a true ‘centre’. There is nothing iconic there. Agreed re Cambridge, Glasgow, Edinburgh. Birmingham’s jewellery quarter etc are canny for a day out - but I also agree, it’s mostly a bit ‘nothingy’
-
Yeah, like I said I quite like it, but the post-WWII rebuild made the centre pretty ugly-looking. The cathedral sums it all up tbf. Generally though found the locals to be sound.

I loved working in Bristol. Was thinking of moving down there before leaving the UK. Would likely be my preferred destination should I ever return. Preferred it to Newcastle tbh (maybe if I hadn’t spent most of my life in Newcastle I’d feel different). Tbh quite like all the places on your list - but I’d put London under Liverpool. Unless you’re very, very wealthy, London would be a bloody awful place to live. Would likely be top if money wasn’t an issue. Coventry is a tip, mind.

There are some pretty fundamental problems at the heart of the KSA govt, but I’d suggest that if NUFC was a priority for what is effectively their national pension pot I reckon that would be the cherry on the cake. Anyone who thinks we’re a priority are delusional - but that doesn’t mean that we’re not a going concern.

For me, if they're going to be Motsonian, they should stick to when the ball is out of play - injuries etc. Otherwise, they should be doing exactly what their primary function is - tell me who is on the ball. Also, the 'colour commentators' should also stick to keeping their gobs shut other than stops in play. While I'm at it - the TV cameras showing the bench / some cunt in the crowd / zooming in on something / showing a replay when the game is being played. One camera lads, point the fucker at the pitch and pan it to follow the ball. That's all we need. You can show me what Eddie Howe looks like some other time.

That's different from my memory of 2023 - I thought we were shite that day
-
Absolutely true - but Wilson’s take is that we’ve sold our souls for top half finishes.
-
That’s why we’ll refuse to be seeded if we’re in Europe next season …

Jonathan Wilson - former writer and matchdat seller of Mackem fanzine A Love Supreme He is a genuinely good football journalist - but any opinion piece on NUFC I’d completely ignore

‘They don’t call me Big Geordie for nothing’

1) who said we were a priority for PIF? 2) look at who authored the piece - there may be a teeny tiny bit of bias in it
-
Was just adding emphasis to your point
-
Arsenal, Roma and Valencia also happily list it in their major trophies won in their websites
-
I thought that was their only motivation for going?

I met both my long-term partners at work; no issue with workplace romances. But I didn’t send any unsolicited pictures of my penis in doing so
