  1. The numbers are wrong, but the business staff did double from 2022 to 2024. Might be worth considering that there was more staff onboard in 2021 than in 2022 - again, he couldn’t have been starting from an easier position.
  2. Given the starting point, what did he do to build that?
  3. Not sure £35m for a teenage full back is being kind, mind
  4. We’re still paying for that Greek goalie - a chunky amount of PSR headroom - and we handed across Anderson at a discount. I don’t think completely fucking up the accounts is a minor mistake in a company. I also don’t think that the hiring of Eales as CEO counts as a minor mistake. All credit to her for persisting in getting the takeover across the line, but from some of our support you’d think it was an act of altruism by a supporter rather than a very wealthy person making a tidy sum from a business deal she’d brokered.
  5. Agreed - I suspect if PIF & RB had appointed competent people at board level and let them run the club then all of that is moot.
  6. That’s why we’re enjoying watching Guehi at the heart of our defence, never wrong this fella
  7. I wouldn’t be upset to see him come in on loan, but surely we can’t be paying silly money for a permanent deal
  8. Hopefully it’s ’considered it then didn’t bother’
  9. Yep - the days when Leeds bankrupted themselves chasing CL qualification are long gone - a successful CL run would add about an extra 10-15% of income to Man Utd compared to a season without
  10. They're not looking to do a Man City, though. That should be apparent - we're coming up to four years in.
  11. I agree, the club is a mess - but they still have the draw of being Man Utd. And players will back their own talent - just because others have flopped, they won't think that they will. I'm not arguing in favour of that logic, like.
  12. If we’re offering equal money to Man Utd, the player is signing for Man Utd. At some point the club will realise that if you’re after players that the big clubs want, you have to make yourself more attractive than them - I.e. offer more wages. No-one is picking us over Man Utd regardless of what happened last season. To do that with PSR, you need a much higher income; until then, you’re not shopping in the same market as them. Almost as if the transfer strategy isn’t written in joined-up writing.
  13. We need competent, engaged people from the ownership at the club on a permanent basis.
  14. It was in disarray before that, and we’ve no idea if Pedro was a Wilson replacement. It doesn’t sound like Isak’s desire to leave came out of a clear blue sky.
  15. At present, I don’t believe that there are any stadium plans, never mind a completion date.
  16. Maybe the real ‘Newcastle tax’ is we have to overpay because of the cartel, rather than the expectations of the selling club that we have a massive pot
  17. Bidding for Jackson does have the advantage of knowing that at least Chelsea won’t gazump us Not seeing an Isak replacement there, mind
  18. I think the lad is tailor made for English football tbh - but I think he’ll fall to pieces at Amorim’s Man Utd
  19. Yep - the problem is that we have a shortage of people in the right roles, not necessarily some of the people we have onboard already.
  20. Don’t think we should bin Nickson - but he should be a chief scout, not a transfer negotiator
